NameIess Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Spoiler Well, this episode was definitely not filler. Also, ASHOKA IS COMING HOPEFULLY NEXT WEEK!!!!! (As long as they don't decide to put the mando on another side quest).
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Spoiler Woo, new episode! I'm a bit disappointed, I was hoping for Sabine, but Bo'katan is awesome! I expect she'll be coming back, after all, the Darksaber is in Moff Gideon's hands. (And I love her name, people drag on apostrophes, but they're so much fun!) I kind of predicted that those sailors were gonna turn on Mando, haven't they done that a few times before? Also, Ahsoka! I'm excited to see where that's going to go. I do wonder if it'll be two episodes, though. There's not really an excuse for it, but the Razorcrest may need a bit more patching up. I'd rather they introduce Ahsoka quickly though, and then Mando, Ahsoka, and maybe Bo'katan team up. That seems like it's going to happen. However, I am something of a naive watcher and reader, and am not the best at guessing where things will go. I get shocked by plot twists a lot, too.
Use the Falchion Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Overall it was a solid episode! Questions were answered, new leitmotifs were introduced, the action and pacing were sharp, and the momentum from the previous episodes still carried over. There was a weak spot or two, but over, I had a good time and I can't wait for next week.
Philomath she/her Posted November 14, 2020 Author Posted November 14, 2020 I want to say I wish this episode had been longer, but it was just so well done that I can’t complain. Why add filler/fluff just for a specific length. I’m so glad this episode picked up right where the last one left off. While I enjoyed the last episode, I was ready for them to start feeling more connected and I am definitely getting the feeling that that will be happening more now. I am still pretty new to lots of Star Wars lore and this episode definitely got me excited to learn more.
+Bzhydack he/him Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 (edited) Also, last episode feels now more important - in fact, 3 first episodes are one story. Many fans complain that story isnt moving forward, so in this episode story was literaly kicked. And men, episode was awsome. Spoiler We can see what Mandalorians can do, now is not wierd that when they were in full strengh, only Jedi can stop them. Mandalorians cut through normal soldiers like through butter. Four of them killed like 52, if im not mistaken. Edited November 14, 2020 by Bzhydack
Briar King Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 I’m fairly sure that Ep2 spiders were the same things from Rebels at their new base. I also found it amusing how they highlighted the difference between Republic aim skills vs the Stormtrooper aim skills.

Spoiler Its not just aim skills, its also about weapons. Republic pilots have blaster rifles with stocks and optics, while stormtroopers have short blaster carabines, only with pistol grip. Looks like Imperium likes massive supressing fire.
The Ward's Guard he/him Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Big fan of Mando and the latest episode. Quote Spoiler I loved seeing Bo Katan live action, and I can't wait to see Ahsoka. On the subject of Stormtroopers and their aim, I think that the jokes are funny, but I also think that they are slightly exaggerated.
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Episode Four: Spoiler Force-sensitive super soldiers. That's what Gideon's trying to make. Force-sensitive super soldiers. And there's a tracking device on the Razorcrest now... that's gonna come back.
Bearer of all agonies he/him Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 ugh. My disney plus registration just ran out, and I can't get it agsin.

I'm guessing that they are... dark side stormtroopers? That would be cool.

Spoiler According to my limited knowledge (I also haven't played the game, but I loved the look and sound of Dark Troopers), they are cybernetically enhanced Stormtroopers that also have some small degree of force sensitivity, making them far more efficient then your typical Stormtroopers. They are Force sensitive cyborgs inside exo-suits. Do look up a YouTube Video explaining them, they are very cool.

I will do that, any reccomendations on what video?

Just searching for "Dark Troopers Explained" on Youtube will bring up several good options.

Orlion Blight he/him Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Now THAT'S some quality Star Wars! 2
Use the Falchion Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Overall I really liked the episode! Filoni is improving every chance he gets, and the finale was a great juxtaposition between Star Wars' western and samurai influences. I do have some gripes, and this isn't my favorite episode, but it's a darn good one that I want to rewatch soon.
Spren of Kindness she/her Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Spoiler Well, I watched the episode. It was probably one of my favorites so far. (Was anyone else making Cosmere references in their head throughout?) I have a single problem. If the Jedi could stop with this 'emotions are bad and will turn you to the dark side', that would be great.
Philomath she/her Posted November 28, 2020 Author Posted November 28, 2020 Loved this episode. That’s all I can say about that. Spoiler I’m curious to know what the “age” equivalent of the child is. Like he still seems very toddler like in some ways, but then can tell a nearly whole life history to Ahsoka. I also just want to express how much I love the music for this show. It has some great themes that give me that same rush as themes from the Star Wars movies. (Or any other good movie music theme.) And I love the credit artwork. Has anyone else watched the short behind the scenes series about the first season. My husband and I started it and it has been fun. Filoni just single handedly changed the way I viewed the prequel trilogy. I really enjoy behind the scenes/how it’s made type shows.
Lunamor she/her Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 Spoiler I have only one thing to say. GROGU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Ward's Guard he/him Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 (edited) Spoiler Is anyone gonna talk about the Thawn's namedrop in this episode? First we had Boba Fett, then Bo Katan, Darktroopers, Ahsoka, and now Thrawn. This is shaping up to be an ambitious show. Also, the fight between Ahsoka and the Magistrate was made far cooler with the Beskar on Lightsaber action, I thought it as an excellent choice. Not my favorite episode for sure, but important and well done. It's good to see Filoni's improvements with live action directing. Edited November 28, 2020 by The Ookla's Guard 1
