Feature Implementation

  1. 1. At the moment districts are mostly flavor; they don’t change anything about your gameplay. Do you want to implement a system where tributes get bonuses on rolls for actions relating to their district?

    • I would want to do that
    • I would not want to do that

That's the plan! Be on the lookout for a post from Rushu to kick the whole thing off!

I will do my utmost to not do that because that would be rude and this is not a place to be rude! There's plenty of time for that later :P.

The mechanical whirr of the platforms stop with a click as the tributes are raised into the arena. You stand in an even circle, around the massive, golden form of the curved horn which is the Cornucopia. A soft light emanates from it, revealing your surroundings. You stand in a dark chamber, evidently underground. You can see three exits, through which the soft light of day shines. Arranged in careful rings around you are piles of supplies and weapons. A voice booms from an unseen speaker: "Let the Games begin!" You are suddenly free to step off your platform.

Alright, here we go! Your Gamemasters are myself, @Invocation, and @xinoehp512. I'm not going to rewrite all the rules; they're in the OP.

The supplies around the Cornucopia are arranged in rings with the best stuff on the inside and the worst on the outside. In rough order, here's the list:

Spoiler

- An empty water jug

-A tarp

- A spool of string

- A small black bag

- A winter coat and gloves.

- A coiled rope

- A small, drawstring bag

- A small, sheathed knife

-A flashlight

- A heavy wooden staff, tipped with metal

- A spear

- A hard leather case

- A shield

- A burlap sack

- A large, full bottle of water

- A hammer

- A flail

- A bow and a quiver of 9 arrows

- A neon yellow backpack

- A wooden crate

- A handaxe

- A vial of clear liquid

- A bedroll and backpack

- A mace

- A sword hanging from a belt

- A huge bottle of water

- A small white bag

- A greatsword

- A thick book

- A metal box

- A brassmind

- A pewtermind

- A single use soulcaster

- A towel

Since you wouldn't know what's in the bags or boxes until you open them, I have omitted that part.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

I immediately start running towards the nearest exit, trying to run past one of the items lying on the ground to pick it up.

Since you didn't specify which object, I'll pick one from the edge. Unless you want to change that.

Your hand finds a long, coiled rope, and it drags on the floor behind you as you run. You can see a flat plain through the exit of the cave; a blue sky above a field of various grasses.

No, I figured that was one of the things the gamemakers had to decide, no real complaints though.

I keep running, hoping to get to a place that's less open. At the same time I start pulling in the rope to make sure I won't trip on it.

I am fully aware of that friend. However some patience is usually not something you wanna miss.

It's only a single use, to be fair, and you may need to use it already to prevent getting killed, given that you're already at the center.

Your madcap dash brings you further out into the center of the barren plains. You can see in the distance what appears to be a sort of thick forest. To the other side is a flat land covered in sand. In which direction would you like to run?

I run and dive into the centre of the supplies, picking one up, hoping whatever I picked up will be enough to defend me against the others.

Your lunge toward the supplies ends with you holding a huge sword, sheathed, a strap dangling from it.

I grab the bow and quiver, then run towards the edge and pick up the coat and small knife.

Unless someone tries to stop you, this is performed successfully.

I sprint forward, reaching for the metal tipped staff. As I run past and towards one of the exits.

Your position in the cave leads you toward an exit from which a bright white light is emanating. You can see a field of what appears to be show, dotted with a few low bushes.

Sponsors, you have until sometime tomorrow to choose who you sponsor.

Games have technically started, but just barely. Can I still also add Itiah to my sponsored?

Feel free to decline. I'm already sponsoring Ene, so it is basically the difference of one more sponsored tribute.

@AonEne and @Invocation, @Rushu42, @xinoehp512 since they technically are in charge this round.

I sit at home, watching the start of the Games. To my left is a bowl of popcorn in order to fulfill my motto: "Always be prepared."

You never know when you might want to throw some at the screen.

I'm okay with sponsoring being able to be changed at any time, as long as the sponsors involved are amenable to it.

I sit on my comfy chair at home, looking at my T.V. To my right is a can of soda and to my left is a pen, paper, and an envelope, so I don't have to miss any action to get my tribute something. I light my pipe and lean back into the chair, "Let the games begin."

I suppose I'll allow it, since no one else has responded directly to your action.

Your fingers touch the cool gems of the soulcaster. You clutch it toward you. You are now in the center of the cavern, right next to @I think I am here.

I run towards the forest.

Your thudding footsteps take you toward the forest, and trees come into focus. You're able to discern the fact that it's raining, but suddenly the ground beneath your foot caves. You fall, and land with a thud, surrounded by darkness.

I dash towards the circle of items, reaching for the small knife.

We can only go for one item at a time, right? Cause I have some devious plans that require more than one object

If the items are near each other on the list, you can try to grab two at once. Since this bit is so heavily dependent on the actions of the other players, though, I hesitate to allow more than that. If someone would have stopped you, they should have that chance.

I try to stop Rashek from grabbing the pewtermind, unsheathing my sword and swinging in a wide arc at them. Scenarios run through my mind. What’s better than a large sword attack at close distance? :P
