Seom took off a coat she'd picked up from a fallen soldier earlier, and got Bella off her, then put the coat around the naked woman. "Oh, you don't know when to relax, do you?" Seom mumbled softly as she made sure Bella had the coat on right.

Walker ran up to Dusk and said, “You got that Hellbent armor yet?”

”I’ve got it right here,” Dusk said, “But why do you need it?”

”I’m pretty sure we’re at the boss battle,” Walker responded.

”Oh, well in that case, I haven’t plated it in aluminum yet, but that shouldn’t be necessary. It’ll enhance senses, strength, speed, reflexes, regenerative power, and it’s titanium, so it’ll keep you protected,” Dusk responded, catching Walker’s sentinel armor and helmet and throwing him the armor. Walker got it and put it on at hyper speed.

Walker ran at Lord Ajax, drawing his Katana, prepared to slash his head off, and end the threat, but fully prepared for every possibility. He new it was likely that this guy had steel, or something else, and was ready to strike. There was nothing that could stop him-and that’s when he hit Ajax’s leeched burst and flew right past him, through several walls, and skidded to a stop several hundred meters away.

Dusk watched from a distance with binoculars and said, “Huh. I knew I should have put aluminum on that thing first.”

He hadn't drawn a signle drop of blood, instead he had been rescued both by his superiour and then by Bella. And he had vomited on the ground. Mike grimaced slightly. Wes and Seom had at least been useful, he had only endagered all of them. Amateur. There was only one amateur here, that was he himself. He left the thoughts alone when he felt porcupine stir and instead folded his hands behind back, assumed a posture that he hoped would look professional.

"What are your orders, sir? I think Seom might need a while with the wounded, but I can go and ask her how much longer she will need."

Bellatrix stirred, her eyes fluttering open for a second, her lips forming what looked like she was trying to say M. Then her eyes fluttered shut again, and she exhaled deeply. Overall, her body was remarkably unharmed. In fact, it seemed better then it had been before. She was completely lacking in scars, scabs, scratches. Her Bloodflame gang tattoo was still there, ominous as ever on her arm. And there was the new tattoo.... the wings of dark fire, folded on her back.

Then there was a sound like the howl of wind through a cave, but a thousand times louder.

Her eyes snapped open, and her mouth opened slowly, and she spoke a single, shaky word.

"Run."

A massive warp materialized in the air, sound howling out from around it. The it made the air turn various shades of red, purple, and blue. The warp was about the size of a (american) football field, and the air seemed to fold around it. Out of it descended seven beams of light, like the heavens had split. Five in a circle, on the edges. Two in the center. Each held a figure, each looked like something holy. The beams were radiant, making those inside look godly.

As all the figures touched down but one, it was revealed what they were in plain daylight.

The tallest, the one standing out most starkly, was a deep purple in color, with deep blue stripes in a tiger pattern on it's helmet and arms, and one bright red eye glowing menacingly on its face. It was eight feet tall, and twice as broad as a human would be at the height. It had violet claws on the ends of it's legs and hands. Each piece of metal rippled like muscle, glowing faintly with a deep red inner light. The effect was like something out of a storybook, a cyclops like the one that faced Jason and the Argonauts. Emblazoned on it's right shoulder, in white, was the words Conqueror 1 on one line, and underneath, Genghis.

The others were each distinct and similar at the same time. Each were at least six feet tall, and got up to seven feet. They were colored in dark colors, blues, blacks, purples, reds. They looked like a storm. Each had a sign on their shoulder, their number and their name. Many had animal like patterns on the armor. All were terrifying. All were alien. All were ready to kill.

But worse then any was their leader. His skin a deep blue, speckled with star patterns like freckles. Each star glowed, and his other skin had a more faint glow. His eyes, heterochromic, were pure in color, no pupil, no variation. One the shade of an amethyst, the other the exact color of blood a second out of the wound. His face held a light smirk. When his mouth opened slightly, a howling black vortex was revealed. His hair was white with small specks of red, blue, green, and purple. He wore a gold and black hooded cloak, but underneath he had armor. Reminiscent of smaller shardplate, without the helm. Appearing in a blaze, a midnight black shardblade appeared. Instead of mist condensing, it was as if the air had been set afire, turning into a blaze which formed the blades. He stepped, and the ground seemed to flinch.

He spoke deeply, the voice resonating throughout the city, the tunnels, the surrounding countryside.

"It's time to die."

The buildings for a block in any direction from him crumbled to dust as division hit them.

Tels shook his head slightly. He must have hit his head harder than he thought on that building. Come to think of it, he still had a slight headache now. No matter; even thought the forcefields had finally been put up, there were still abominations coming left and right. Althea had tasked him with defending while he could, and there was no reason to stop now. "Orders still stand," Tels said, addressing Mike. "Althea said that we–"

It was at this point that a huge blast of light shot out from somewhere a few blocks away. Even from this distance, it was blinding to look at, and Tels couldn't even tell what was going on inside of there. A booming voice, powerful and penetrating, suddenly reached Tels' ears.

"It's time to die."

Buildings all around Tels began to crumble to dust, chunks of stone falling as if they were nothing more than sand castles being washed away by the tide. When all of the dust settled, Tels spotted a man, in resplendent armor, holding oily black shardblades that seemed to make the very air around them burn, step forward. He was surrounded by other fierce-looking warriors, each one more appearing more dangerous than the last.

Tels felt a chill in his bones. The beast had been hard enough, and Tels knew that these creatures would be much more deadly. He sent a quick message to Althea on his communicator, miraculously unbroken from the fight. "Are you seeing what I'm seeing? What are your orders?" Tels sent. Turning back to Mike, and addressing Wes, Seom, and the new woman that had just appeared, Tels said, "Until Althea says otherwise, orders are to fight for our lives, do what we can to protect ourselves and anyone else we find. You guys are more equipped than I am right now; I'm out of white sand, and unless any of you have a way to restore Investiture, I'll be practically useless in a fight. Be careful. Lord Ajax chuckled, his chuckle booming. It could be heard from several blocks away. But it wasn't the earthshakingeveryonehears voice he had used earlier. He hovered about a foot off the ground, and his shardblades flashed as he rushed forward, lashed a hundred times towards Walker. He slashed any buildings left, setting them on fire. He landed with a thud, dust flying up around him. He walked out of it, eyes glowing like fire, suit glinting, blades looking like they were burning the air.

He soulcast the air above Walker into small pebbles, dropping a thousand pounds of rock on his head. Then he flew into the air, looking around. He saw a group to the east. They were one of the guilds... what was it... the assassins. Ghostbloods.

He grinned, and flew forward, slamming to the ground about half a block in front of them. He stopped, letting the Conqueror squad catch up. Then he took a step forward. With each step, he activated division, burning his footprints into the ground.

"So." His voice carried over the space easily. "Shall we fight?"

The helicopter shook, and the grunt almost toppled, balance mods in her suit the only thing that kept her upright.

Then they started falling. She was slammed into the ceiling, barely avoiding getting her head slammed into it. She pushed off of it, grabbing Kendul and wrapping him in her arms. They crashed, her armor cushioning the blow for both of them.

She stood up slowly, shaking her head, and raised a pistol toward Kendul's head.

"Get up. If you don't listen perfectly I will shoot without hesitation."

She opened the door, revealing a long skid mark. The pilot was dead, and the glass of the cockpit shattered. The controls were ripped to pieces. It looked like a GTA missile had hit.

She took in a sharp intake of breath.

"Get out."

The ship started to fall, and the grunt hit the ceiling, but bounced back and grabbed onto him, and they smashed into the ground. Kendul groaned. It seemed the grunt's armor had mostly protected them from the fall. She stood up, and leveled a pistol at him. "Get up. If you don't listen perfectly, I will shoot without hesitation."

"Ugh. Give me a second," He croaked. He pushed himself to his feet, and followed her to the cockpit. She opened the door, and they saw the Pilot, dead, the controls ripped to shreds. "Get. Out." She demanded. He started to argue, but thought better of it. "Fine." He stepped out of the remains of the copter, and looked around.

"What.. even was that?" He asked.

She shrugged almost imperceptibly. "I don't know. But Lord Ajax is in the city now. Bad for you, good for me." She paused, looking uncomfortable. "But still dangerous for me." As if to prove her point the building about a block away dissolved.

THE Lord Ajax? You gotta be kidding me. Kendul sighed, unsure of what to do now.

"Well, what's our course of action? I can't exactly run away from you, at least not do that and live, plus I have the best chance of surviving an encounter with one of your, er, colleagues, If I stick with you. "

He looked at were the building was, a few seconds prior. "I personally suggest getting out of here before we end up like that building."

Walker quickly stood up and put his over his head to guard it, the pebbles falling around him, denting his armor, and covering his head. He climbed out then took of his helmet, smashing his jaw against the pebbles, breaking the sugar crystalline bottle in it, full of steel. He then swallowed it, and then stored some speed, doing some quick compounding before sprinting of to get his old presentinels gear.

Deteca heard what Zokora said, but didn't think about it or say anything. She couldn't. Then a stamp was pressed into her side, and her wound healed, and her head cleared - just a little bit, the dizziness from blood loss vanishing. Though she was emotionless, she knew the natural reaction to this was confusion...because shouldn't she be able to fully think again? "Thank you," she remembered to say. With effort, she fixed her eyes on Zokora. "I still feel strange...?"

Zokora looked at the healer and he smiled at Deteca.

"That is only natural. You will need some time to recover, but for now you are good."

Turning to Zokora he stood up.

"If you need anything else, just contact me. With your permission, I will head back, see who else needs my help."

Nodding Zokora thanked him, and he rushed away. Zokora offered Deteca an arm to help her sit up. For a moment she wondered how she ended up here, next to Deteca, the one who had spied on them, had betrayed them, and she was offereing her an arm, then she only smiled at that thought. She liked her. Probably she should never say that loudly, but she liked her. Even with these strange black things she had created.

"It's time to die."

The voice resonated through the tunnels and Zokora froze, then updated her maps and reports. Wordlessly she showed them to Deteca, all thoughts about asking about the black things forgotten for the moment.

"We might have a problem."

Grey wandered through the streets of Alleycity, enjoying his Cornetto. Despite his lack of a mouth, he still enjoyed the variety of flavors it provided. He was listening to more strains of Grieg, when a chuckle echoed through the street in front of him. It reverberated, drowning out even the music inside of his skull. Grey started. That was, that was terrible! No finesse, no style, nothing. Just a bland laugh for ambience. He’d never truly gotten into the evil laughs. Not having a mouth kind of cut off the opportunity, but even before then he had never been much of a laugher. It had never appealed to him. It seemed like a waste of breath. Why laugh when you can instead spend your words attacking your opponents belief system, or destroying their worldview. All this wasn’t to say that he wasn’t aware of the finer points of a good laugh. They had had seminars at the DA. PR had required it. You couldn’t have your reputation destroyed by a laugh like the one he had just heard. If a denizen was going to do an evil laugh, they were going to do the evilest of laughs.

Grey made a snap decision and turned toward the direction of the chuckle, breaking into a jog as he did so. It didn’t take him long to find the source. If the vaporized block hadn’t been evidence enough, the props from a 1950’s kaiju movie confirmed it. Obviously they weren’t the source of the sound. There several of them, and a villain with that kind of laugh wasn’t going to to hide among their henchman. That only left the blue makeup demo. He really needed a new wardrobe decorator. Someone with blue skin shouldn’t wear a robe. It made you look less like an intimidating villain out to take over your [insert various countries, towns, planets, galaxies, and cul-de-sacs here], and more like a smurf in his dad’s pajamas. The blue skin was honestly probably a mistake, another reason to fire the wardrobe director. And the stars. Well they were different. It was nice to see something different, stars were rather uncommon among the DA, seeing as they were associated more with the ceiling of a child’s bedroom then your average mad scientist. But it worked on the smurf. Maybe that was because the glowing stars contrasted nicely with black Shardblades and mouth. Overall though, the smurf was a run of the mill villain. Rather basic. Grey watched as he rushed someone in armor, tugged on his hat string, then paused for a moment to gather his thoughts.

“Hi,” He said into the smurf’s mind, “What’s up! I honestly don’t care. Anyway, can I ask, why do you have to chuckle so loud? Look, I get it, evil laughs are lovely and all. Not exactly my style, but when done right, it can really add to the mood, and I mean, while it is cliche, judging by the fire and such, laughing on an entrance is rather classy. But again, I have to say. Why so loud? A truly good evil chuckle, it doesn’t start loud. It starts quiet, almost a giggle. Let a few out, and then be silent for a few seconds, build up tension. Then when its nearly become awkward, start laughing, but at the volume you use when gossiping about someone and you want them to hear. Then crescendo. Build up the chuckles, adding layers, adding depth. Let it grow, but as it grows in volume, it will grow in size as well. Then before it gets bloated, cut it off. Leave it with an edge. You’ve gone from a whisper to a raised voice. That’s all you need. Now, if you need some examples of how to properly do it, there’s a few I can recommend. The Stranger for example, has got a wonderful laugh. He’s had centuries to practice, and trust me, they’ve payed off. If it gives you any idea, he’s the guy they use as an example in the powerpoint. Voidus, I think could work too, though as more of an example of understatement. You getting all this? I really think you ought to be taking notes. Let me know if you have any questions.”

KanMien went through the DA storehouse, getting more ammunition. They shook their head, annoyed with having to withdraw because of something like that. Still, it would be good to get more, and besides, the army had gotten too close to their previous position. Finished they snapped their fingers, rearranging the alleys in front of them, depositing them on an empty floor in one of the skyscrapers in the city. They cut a hole in the glass, poking their sniper out of it, and placed an Alerter Fabrial next to them to warn them of anybody trying to sneak up on them. Just as they started watching the city again a lightshow appeared a few kilometers away.

A voice resounded through the city: "It's time to die." KanMien groaned at the volume of the sound. Shaking their head, they took aim at the man and chambered a round. "Couldn't agree more," they whispered. They tapped some Zinc, just enough make sure their aim was right, and fired at the man's center of mass. Their spikes still felt strange when used, after-effects from the storm. They wondered if it would help or hinder them.

A voice resounded through the city: "It's time to die." Aylitha looked up at the noise. Cradling her head as if to nurse a headache she sighed. "He realizes how corny that sounds, right?" She complained to Voidus and the Stranger. "Nevermind," she said, shaking her head. "Apparently he decided to make our job easier." The bridge behind her trembled, six large birds of prey rising up out of the moss. They flew away, moving in the direction of Lord Ajax, trying to get more information.

From high in the sky the birds spotted them, a large strange being in the center, with six armored soldiers around him. They dove down, aiming for the center figure.

Aylitha looked into the air, eyes unfocused. "Found him," she muttered. "Six other soldiers present as well, wearing power armor. Most don't look human. One flier, one molluscoid, one walking arsenal, a demented imitation of a clown, and two human types. Abilities are unknown." She looked back at the horde of monsters standing at the shore. "I'll deal with crowd control, you two can deal with the big guy."

They will be well cared for."

*laughs out loud. everyone else at the funeral looks at me angrily.*

Just kidding, I’m not at a funeral.

Walker put on his old jacket and glared at Dusk.

”What!? How was I supposed to know?!” Dusk asked.

”You should have at least waited to see,” Walker responded.

”I’m not the one who ran at him and flew through several walls, then destroyed my highly advanced armor,” Dusk shook his head are Walker.

”Whatever. Have you still got that essence spike. I hate it, but we might need it,” Walker asked.

”It’s in a vault in Bassopilis, where it ended up after you mentioned to the TUBA leading council that I had it,” Dusk told him.

”Fine, fine,” Walker asked, “Leecher Orb?”

“Stolen, either by the DA, or the Jackal. You think a Whiper cannon would work?” Dusk asked.

”U think the motivator itself would probably just fry from his leecher field, like your ‘highly advanced suit’ did,” Walker responded.

”Fine, fine, at least take some of those electric sentinel guns,” Dusk told him.

”I’m just going to take this old revolver,” Walker said, holding up a steel 9 bullet revolver.

”Fine. Just don’t get killed, you still need to get married,” Dusk ordered.

”Fine,” Walker said, before jumping on a warg that Dusk made via some forced evolution, and riding off back to the fight, katanas on his back, revolver in his hoster on his side, to rejoin the battle.

This is different, Deteca thought, but it suddenly occurred to her that maybe she shouldn't be expressing weakness in front of another guild. Proposing an alliance was one thing; acting like Zokora was a sister was another entirely. She felt a pang at the thought of sisterhood, but shoved it away. Wait - emotion? Her emotions had been dull and fleeting if there at all during the time after the fight, but now mild panic and pain were rumbling a warning within her, and embarrassment was beginning to surface too. They were faint, but there. Her vision was still blurry and she felt physically numb, not to mention cold enough that she should've been shivering. But Deteca felt a little more rational.

So she stayed silent as Zokora helped her up, staring unfocused at the rocky wall. Zokora was a good person. There were some who would've taken the chance to let the leader of an enemy guild die, but she had fought with Deteca and carried her to a healer. Carried her. She glanced down at her side again, confirming that it was fully healed. That Forger had done a good job.

When she heard the voice, she at first thought it was another alarm informing them of a new assault, until she registered the intonation and message. "It's time to die." The tunnels trembled slightly - unless that was her imagination; Deteca wasn't sure whether or not to trust her sense of balance yet - and Zokora stilled before looking at her device. She held it out, showing her, and Deteca drank in the news.

"That's..." She searched for words, her head unclear. "Not good." Frowning, she tossed her head lightly, but it didn't help. "Should we go up there?"

He nodded. "I hope so."

Aln swayed slightly, vision blurring, and steadied herself by sucking in a small amount of Stormlight. Hopefully it wouldn't be enough to cause a problem with her captor. She coughed. "Mr. Redleaf, would there perhaps be a way for me to get a glass of water? I haven't had anything to drink for quite a few hours."

Worried Zokora observed her for a moment, made sure she didn't let go of her arm. Deteca seemed dizzy, as if she might tumble to the ground again any time.

"Here, maybe drink something?"

She offered her her own bottle of water, turned her body slightly, so that she could see the adjacent tunnels. Better to have a wall in her back, easier to judge where an attack came from. Looking back at her device she added a camera view, looked at the roofs.

"I could take us to a roof, a safe distance away. So that we can get an impression of the situation,  judge better where to send our troops."

Whether to send them at all. But that was another question. Give up. The thought crossed her mind, and she paused, pulled up her numbers, their losses. Giving up was no option. Not at all. If they gave up, then the city was lost. Sadly she looked at the destroyed places, that had been her home, sorrow creasing her blow. Blinking a few times to get rid of some tears, she focused the camera on some buildings maybe a hundred feet away from Lord Ajax. One of them was destroyed almost completely. A part of its roof was still standing, facing into the direction Lord Ajax was coming from. It had been grey, with glass. A nice backyard and a good neighbourhood. Windows facing the east, greeting the sun each morning.

"We could go there. I know the area well."

Zokora had never been like Althea, burrying all emotions below an unbreakable mask, but right now she wished her voice would sound strong and clear, and not small and hurt as it sounded to her ears.

Do you need something?

She asked Max while she pressed her hand on the sensor to unlock the hidden door in the wall of an innocent looking building and then headed inside.

Max looked to the warp, to Ajax. His eyes were wide.

Ajax is here, he replied. Looks like he came to us with all of his monsters.

He summoned Sethramir and held it by his side defensively.

Do the Ghostbloods have any anti-aircraft technology? He’s hovering around, and I have a feeling he’s going to be able to repel most things we throw at him. His voice over the link shook slightly.

——-

“Ohmystorms Ohmystorms Ohmystorms!” Wes shouted on the rooftop, looking at Ajax and his posse of monsters. They all look scary. This was the boss battle. The final fight. The end game. Wordlessly Wes swivelled the machine gun to aim and Ajax, and fired away relentlessly.

“Die, die, die!” He chanted.

Althea cursed then finally the door opened and she stepped inside rushing through the hallway, the situation reminded her of another year, another hideout. Rushing to get more  stormlight to face another enemy.

Her hands shook and she stopped, listened. Silence. Nobody was here anymore. Tilting her head back she screamed, an ear-piercing feral scream. Lord Ajax, her city, Max. The fire, the poison, the dead boy in Shadesmar, the surgery, the attack in Oasis, Lusk. It all blured together, her days like a neverending nightmare. Staring into a mirror she looked at her face, at the exhaustion etched in there, the blue eyes. Blue. Suddenly she hated them, wished they were red again, knew that it was nothing but exhaustion and desperation and guilt, but for now she hated her face. Her hair, still streaked with blood and dirt, although the rain had helped, had washed a lot of the stuff out. Althea realized she'd started to cry, because it was so much, too much forherto process, to handle. With a sob she -

Her device beeped and she looked down. Tels asking for orders.

See if you can find something out about his powers, maybe place some more cameras. Only fight if you think you can win.

She wrote back, then used the bathroom, grabbed some chocolate. They had these few minutes, they had to have them. Out of balance she helped no one.

"You swore to protect them."

Brashen hopped on her chocolate and she heaved another sobbing breath.

"I'm trying. I don't know what else to do. No matter what I do, some will die."

"But he won't rule."

"Sacrifice few to save many."

Her voice was bland when she finally retrieved the spheres. Inhaling she closed her eyes.

"I ... it's wrong no matter what I decide it's wrong. I'm bargaining with their lives as if they weren't important. I know it's about the larger picture. It always is. But still - I can't -"

Max voice reached her and it was shaking slightly as well. He was as scared as she was. They all were. There was a time to break down. And it wasn't now.

I want to go on vacation.

She told him.

Just a few days. No dying, no deaths, just you and me and no war.

She made sure the door was locked and then took a deep breath. Stay strong, stay calm. No more outbreaks. Wiping the tears of her face she reached for her mask again. She looked even ore awful than earlier, red streaks from crying a great addition to the grime and blood of the sewers.

Elsecalling back to Max and Aylitha she replied to his question loudly.

"We might have some motivators to conter his hovering. Maybe a Radiant with Gravitation can help as well. I ordered Tels to try and find out something about his powers. I need to contact our quartermaster."

Her voice was calm and controlled, her face her usual, carefully crafted mask.

==================

Mike rushed over to Wes, took his arm.

"Stop. Just stop Wes. He's too far away. Please. You need to think."

He stared at him, at the boy who was declining his friendship again and again. That kept him at a distance.

"Wes, please. I don't want to loose you."

I want to be your friend, but if I can't be that, then at least let me be your voice of reason.

Aylitha nodded, staring somewhat absently into the air. "My other self has some scouts on the way as well," she said. "I should be able to tap their information as well. I'm also vectoring some bugs this way, but they'll take time to get close. The only thing I know is that aside from the big guy we have six similar to the ones we fought before, but with more specializations. Most of them don't look that human either."

She shook her head, eyes focusing on the others. "Heavy weapons sound good," she said, smiling. "In most cases heavy weapons and training can beat almost all ability users, especially since the more powerful ones tend to neglect actual combat training." She shook her head. "I think you'll need anti-tank weaponry to get through the armor on some of them though, and at least one looks like a ranged fighter, so you'll need to be mobile as well." She looked at Althea. "I don't suppose you Ghostbloods have high-altitude bombers available? High-saturation carpet-bombing kind of sounds like the best option now." She sighed, I really should have been Karin right now, she thought. At least she would have known how to handle this.

Voidus glanced back towards the city, towards the direction of the voice that echoed across the landscape, managing to reach even this far out. The brow he'd raised in amusement at the Stranger's summoning of the Behemoth now lowered, knitting together with his other brow as he directed a stern frown towards the city. His eyes were cold and hard as they scanned the cityscape, taking in the multiple plumes of smoke and destroyed buildings. But all that was temporary, buildings, land, even the people who'd lost their lives would eventually be forgotten to the annals of history. The Vortex had been destroyed, that was the primary concern. All that was left now was taking care of what remained of this army, to ensure this didn't happen again.

"It would be easier if we didn't need to mind the rabble, our thanks." He replied to Aylitha. "If we find anything unInvested we'll try to leave it at least somewhat intact for study."

He turned gravely towards the Stranger, seemingly weighed down by something other than the cloud of dust that the Behemoth had stirred up, and took one large breath before squaring his shoulders back and holding his head up straight.

"One final errand." Voidus said. "And then perhaps we can gain enough quiet to have a real conversation."

The Stranger nodded, “I could use some peace and quiet.”

Behind them the Behemoth continued to decimate the remains of the enemies forces. The Stranger looked at his old friend and saw the look on his face. Voidus was out of patience. Whatever relief he had felt the moment before had vanished like a raindrop in a hurricane, swept away by the cold rage of the most powerful man in the universe. The Stranger new that in this state it was very likely Voidus could destroy the entire city. While the Stranger wouldn’t be terribly against it, he knew Voidus would regret it later. He was a good man, despite what the world believed, perhaps even what Voidus himself believed.

I’ve got to find a way to manage this situation. This Ajax fellow will almost certainly be a arrogant little cremling, and if he even further provokes Voidus things could get messy.

He glanced at his friend and saw the air beginning to warp around him, the Void bubbling in small pools.

Very messy.

“Let me make an example of him. We could just destroy him, or we could use this opportunity to remind the world that we do not suffer such fools as these. This man slights is, and I would not give him an easy death. I would have him know despair, then perish. Would you grant me that, old friend? Then we could sit down and indulge in some catching up and perhaps even some reminisce.”
