old man moomba he/him Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Quote Ok. 'Plot' has arrived Doc finished screwing the casing shut and smiled to himself. Not bad for a few hours' work. He pressed the power button and the small screen lit up, displaying a map of their neighbourhood. Doc tapped in a few parameters and pressed a button. The gem on the device glowed brightly, then dimmed as Stormlight was drained from it. On the screen, several dots appeared, all within the house. Doc grinned widely. It had worked. He navigated to a list titled 'Types of Investiture detected' it displayed a small number of Suges. Doc jumped up from his chair, pumping his fist. "Yes! I did it!" He plopped back down, still fiddling with the device. Time for a bigger test. He reset the parameters to the Seattle metro area, then pressed the button. The gem glowly blindingly for a split second, then went totally dark. The map changed to show around ten dots scattered all over Seattle. He pulled up the list, scrolling down. About halfway through, he paused, staring at a source labeled UNKOWN. "What?" he murmured to himself. The source was located at Seatac airport. The only reason an UNKOWN identification would come up is if the detctor located a source of Investiture it couldn't recognize. Doc felt dizzy. In the unlikely event that this wasn't a fluke of some sort, everything they knew could be turned on it's head. 5

There appears to be four eggs, although they haven’t hatched yet. Glint’s glow faded in disappointment. ===================== Ben sucked in some stormlight. He bent down and stretched his hand towards a small sapling. He focused, imagining the plant growing, flourishing, thriving. Stormlight flowed directly from his hand into the little plant, and it quickly rose upwards, reaching for the sun. Just as it seemed to stop growing, it sprouted a huge flowerhead with bright red petals. “Here.” He held it out to Shana. ”I thought you could try and use Division on the petals.” @Sorana Edited April 10, 2019 by Lunamor

We could go to the lake. There are ducks and ducks loose feathers. ========================= Awed Shana observed him grow a flower. It was beautiful, with bright red petals. When he held it out to her she blushed and grinned happily. A flower, he had given her a flower. ”I thought you could try and use Division on the petals.” "You mean, destroy it?" She asked and looked at the flower again. Nobody ever had given her a flower before and now he did so easily, grew it out of the earth without any effort. Shyly she added: "Can't I keep it?"

Happily Mahad flew in the direction of the nearest lake. That way. A swan would be great! ==================== "Thank you!" Carefully she placed the flower on a small table nearby, took the time to collect herself. He thought she was pretty. And he'd blushed. That meant he liked her, did he? She took the orange flower out of his hand, her fingers lingering on his a bit too long. Should she compliment him? Did he expect it? "So, I'll start." Hastily she stepped back, looked at his flower. He'd given her a flower. Her heart skipped a beat when she looked at him again, and then concentrated on the flower. She would show him, this time it would work. Inhaling stormlight she mentally touched the petals and then cut them off. They turned into dust, instead of simply falling to the ground and she grimaced. Too much, again too much. She felt exhaustion tugging on the corners of her mind, but pushed it aside for now. He wanted to train with her, she wouldn't stop that now. Not after he'd given her a flower. Lifting her head from the flower she looked at him again, hoped that he wasn't disappointed at her slow progress.

I wonder how we are going to convince Ben or Shana to come to the lake and pick up the feathers for us. ========================= Ben saw Shana carefully put the flower on a table. She really seemed to like it. Was that because the flower was pretty or because he had given it to her? When Shana took the flower from his hand, her fingers touched his for a little longer than necessary. Was that a good sign? He hoped his hands weren’t sweaty again. Ben watched the petals disappear into dust, their remains floating down onto the ground and getting lost in the grass. “Wow!” He was astonished at her fast progress. “You did great!” Shana looked nervous. Why was she nervous? Had he made her uncomfortable? He hoped not. Spending time with her was amazing, and he desperately didn’t want her to push him away like everyone else. He peered at the flower. “That was so precise! Not a single bit of the flower other than the petals was destroyed.” He looked at Shana again and grinned. She really was quite beautiful. But the smile slipped off his face when he saw how tired she was. “Shana, are you ok? You look exhausted.” He said with concern. Had he been pushing her too hard? Edited April 10, 2019 by Lunamor
