His hand on her face left her skin tingling and she knew he meant what he said. Shana pushed herself up on an ellbow and kissed him softly, thankful that he was here, that she hadn't scared him away.

If we spent all of our time doing that, we’d never be able to enjoy or improve the present.” Ben paused, fighting to keep his voice from quivering. He needed to learn that lesson as well. Talking about it still brought up painful memories.

Grabbing her blanket she pulled it over her body and only a few heartbeats later she was asleep, her thoughts still with Ben, with his unruly hair and the way he looked at her. She was smiling slightly.

Ben opened the door and stepped inside. He almost did a double take at the extremely utilitarian surroundings. How could Rob stand the blandness, the boring simplicity? He didn’t even have a proper bed. Ben felt sadness for him. What had been done to him to cause him to want such a depressing room? He looked back at Rob. He was sitting up- that was a good sign. “Hey, Rob. How are you feeling?”
