Shana turned to Ben.

"You could also read a book if you want to. I wouldn't mind, I'm fine with whatever you prefer."

She offered carefully, tried to make him feel welcome, but at the same time she knew that he prefered a good book over physical exercise anytime. Hopefully he wouldn't feel like he needed to spar, only to make her happy. She loved him, there was no need for him to try to become someone else only because they were together.

Ben was grateful Shana had given him an out from sparring. He was horrible at it, and he didn’t want to get in her way again. He still wanted to help out a bit, though.

“I think I would like to read a book outside. That way I can be nearby if anyone gets seriously injured.”

“Of course!” said Leona. “There’s  massive tub in the training room. Take whatever you need. I can soulcast whatever you make into cake if you want.” she offered.

After finishing his lunch, James went upstairs to his room, and stretched out on his bed. Prom eh? he thought to himself, well this provides a predicament, given I know practically nobody in this house. He grimaced slightly at the thought. 

I could help The Nightwatcher offered, I'm great at cultivating relationships.

Alright, he thought back, I'm game 

The Nightwatcher started humming in his head, as she got thinking-  a minute later, James recognized the tune. "Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match. Find me a find, catch me a catch" James, sighed. This was going to be an ordeal if ever there was one.

“Thanks Leona, you’re the best!” Flid said. “And Edwin you’re welcome to join me, and Rob, you can too.”

And yes, I realize I have gradually turned Leona into a complete fangirl. Oh well  

Leona got up from the table and put her dishes in the dishwasher. “I’m headed downstairs to grab my longsword. See you outside.”

She went downstairs, and dug through the locker holding her weapons. There, in a dark navy sheath was the sword Azriel. To be fair, she had named it two years ago when she was obsessed with fantasy books, but it was still an overly pompous name. 

She drew it out of the sheath. The blade was heavy in her hand, dark blue-gray metal extending five feet from hilt to tip. It was heavy enough that it required stormlight to fight with, even though she’d soulcast it into an unknown metal that was lighter than t should be . It held an edge better than anything but a shard blade

She smiled grimly. Hello, old friend. 

She walked back upstairs, holding just enough stormlight to make Azriel easy to carry.

The bow is a nobble weapon it shows judgment and precision.  Fine attributes worth cultivating.  I would vary much like to learn if someone here is proficient.

"I'm okay with a bow. They take hours and hours of practice, and they're only good at distances. You can't use them for close-range combat. I prefer Azriel, my longsword, or my two shortswords. But if pressed, I can use a bow." Leona said.

"I am trained in Krav Maga and Judo because I thought touching people during combat would be useful but I think cultivating a ranged skill would still be useful.  I am Luther by the way I arrived last night."

Backstory: Grew up in a small town, and was known as a nerd, a snitch, and a geek. He was bullied, and bullied further when he told the teachers about the bullies, when they said he just had to "tough it out".  He discovered his radiancy during that time, and began experimenting. His spren named itself Mario after the video game character. He was still bullied however. He eventually moved, when his mother left his dad, and now goes to school here.

So, uh, can someone give me a summary of the situation here? Plot, character relations, etc.
