He stood up, didn’t offer her a hand up. “Now, I want to you start on what I said. Start making a routine, then age and practise with  that.”

She nodded, getting to her feet. at some point she'd stopped storing age. Whether it had been earlier, under her control, or while she was out of it, she wasn't sure. That was something else she needed to work on. Better subconscious control. Around two years older had been instinctual until recently when that had been an age of healing injuries. During the time it had taken to get past that, she'd lost the ability.

Freedom brushed some hair out of her face and started to walk away.

The girl started to walk away.

“Aye, okay, you go then,” Lusk said. “And tomorrow, same time, we’ll meet here. And I want to see you actually have some stuff prepared, because tomorrow’s when you start your sparring.”

He cracked his knuckles (he’d never believed what they’d said about arthritis) and scartahced the top of his head, wondering what to do now. He stepped back, and walked out of the door as well. He was hungry.

Malu stood up and knocked on a glass, making a noise that hopefully garnered everyone's attention.

"I would like to ask everyone to leave for the time being, please and thanks, as I attempt to get this place back to a working condition," he said, frowning at the missing wall portion and chalk pillars. "There will be a closed sign on the door, and once that's gone, you may come back. I hope to have some improvements done as well. Thank you."

Lily stands up, a bit peeveed. That was the second time this day she had to leave! She walks out the door.

Malu unlocked the Tavern door, happy that the repairs hadn't taken long and exceptionally happy to be able to get back to making people content. As he began to make checks on what would need to be restocked soon, the door's bell jingled. I wasn't expecting someone to be that quick! He thought, turning around and smiling, only to be confronted by a most unusual sight: dark-robed figures filing through the door and approaching the bar. As they came closer, he did a quick headcount - nine. The part of him that still thought like a Vorin ardent cringed at the number, and he wondered if it was intentional. If it was, whoever sent them certainly had done their homework.

Attempting to still be courteous, since you never knew who you were talking to here, he kept the smile going and addressed the nine as they stood in front of the bar. "How can I help you all?"

A grinding voice, replicated nine times, sounded from the group. "We will not stand for the continuation of such blasphemous activities as go on in this tavern. Repent when we return or face the consequences," they said, melting away into a dark vapor, the last syllable extending into a hiss.

Malu frowned. Hadn't he just gotten done dealing with crazies in his tavern? Why couldn't they just let the bubble of peace persist? A disturbing thought also occurred to him, and he frowned deeper. "Katki, they didn't say what they wanted me to stop, did they?"

"No, they didn't, boss. I think we'd both remember if they did." Katki gave the mental impression of a shrug. "Guess they couldn't have cared that much, huh?"

"That, or they'd already decided. That possibility worries me."

Katki hummed in agreement as he considered it and conceded the point.

Malu poured himself a shot of good Roughs whiskey to lessen the impact of the occurrence and got ready for customers.

Zan walked into the tavern, glad that the Waiter hadn't put it out of business. He walked over to the bar where Malu was drinking and sat down. "Can I get a shot of that whiskey?" Zan asked, "I heard about what happened, soory to hear about it.

"Absolutely. It's no problem about what happened, though, no permanent harm done." Malu poured a shot of whiskey as he spoke and set it in front of Zan.

"Hello! I don't think I've seen you in here before. Would you like something to eat or drink?"

"Yeah, could have been worse I guess" he said as he picked the glass and drank it, filling his brassmind slightly to help with the heat. He looked over at the girl who walked in and, after she ordered bread, ignored her.

"Yes we do, but is that really all you want?"

"Maybe some water as well?" Sofya asks

"Alright." Malu pours a glass of water and sets freshly toasted bread with a cup of butter on the side in front of Sofya, a knife jammed into the butter.

"Thank you very much." Sofya responds. She grabs the butter and spreads it on the bread. "So, who're you?"

"Interesting!" Sofya says. She takes a drink of water, then places her cup back down. "I managed to snag a small library to live in, so that's pretty nice." She takes another bite

"A library? Nice. I can appreciate libraries, as a Truthwatcher."

Sofya stops. "Oh." She says. "I didn't realize any other Radiants were here..." As she says this, her inkspren, Pearl, grows to about her size and sits on the seat next to Sofya.

"Oh, yeah, there's tons of us around here. There was a large Skybreaker fellow in here recently and one of my repeat customers is an Edgedancer. I know there's a few Lightweavers running around as well. So you're an Elsecaller, huh? Nice. Nice to meet you, Brightness Inkspren. What's your name, and do you want some Stormlight, by chance?"

Katki's prismatic light ripple shone as he slid up onto the bar surface. "I'm here too! My name is Katki. I'm Malu's spren."

Pearl speaks, slowly. "My name is Pearl. I would like some Stormlight, yes. It is also nice to meet you, Katki."

Malu sets a gemstone, freshly renewed, in front of Pearl as Katki hums.

A portly man pushed his way into the tavern, his head held up high as he examined his surroundings down his nose as though already sneering at them. He briefly adjusted his waistcoat before sauntering in a few steps and taking a careful look over each of the individuals present.
