That's not to say that without religion there aren't things like family and friends to find meaning in, but as for the large scale meaning of life, I think religion does answer that 1

I write a lot of things so that one poem didn't feel specific enough to me. Spoiler I don't understand Why Why me Why then Why now I don't understand How How they knew How I lost it How to get back But you do You understand Why How You see all The pain The notes You see The monster Even when They don't You know That it's hard You listen anyways And even though I've turned so many times You're still there You'll always be there Just like the first time When it wasn’t big Or painful Just a sincere desire To know And then when I thought You weren't You showed me you were And when I thought I couldn't last Ten more Minutes You sent him To remind me That you were still there And when I doubted again You sent someone who I know Who is around me everyday To tell me why he knew And remind me You were still listening And I fell hard Before I was ready In front of them Now they know They can't carry my weight alone But when I look past them I see you You won't let them drop me Or slip and fall They've built on you In a way I haven't yet I know that they aren't you That they haven't Been through what I have But you have And you're holding on to them Encouraging them to reach out And try one more time Because you aren't ready to let me go. solarcat she/her Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 What I currently feel about religion is that people claim to follow one on the basis of truth, however the value is lost when you have to actively defend said truth or prove/force it upon others. I think it's better to remain agnostic in a sense.
