Tion searched the visions, looking for a future in which she escaped, but couldn't find any, but she also couldn't see the most urgent futures, so she could hope. The soldiers began to move around the house, checking every corner and possible hiding place.

As the soldiers move into the family room, one checks under the couch, then flips the couch over, revealing the trapdoor hiding Tion on the bottom of the couch. He calls the other soldiers over, who level their guns at the trapdoor as the soldier reaches out to open the trapdoor.
