As the ship got closer, a boisterously sung chant could be heard coming from the sailors.

The Dark Alley does spiking.

But that's not to our liking.

We're sailing, not biking.

Because we are vikings!

Far out in the sea...

"Yeah, right," said Twig Samson. "Like that'll ever be true." He whistled to a ship nearby to take care of those scumbags. That disrespectful ship wouldn't last long. Twig smiled. They were nearing shore after a long while at sea. This time the water alleys hadn't been kind and kept taking them in the wrong directions. He shivered recalling the horrors they'd faced and hoped this new land Mejin had told him of wouldn't have quite as many dangers. Other than all the spikes it seemed pretty safe.

------------

The first ship pulled into the harbor and a man hopped down from the side.

Mejin smiled as she recognized her old friend Twig. "Good to see you," she told him, pulling something out of her pocket. "More of this is coming."

He accepted it graciously and pulled out a cookie. Twig took a bite and grinned. "You sure know how to make my crew and I happy. Anything I can do for you?"

"As a matter of fact, yes," Mejin said. "Can you come with me for a minute?"

Twig nodded and snapped his fingers in the direction of his ship. A scrawny looking redhead jumped up waving. "You're in charge, Shrimp!" Twig called out and turned to Mejin. "His bark's worse than his bite, don't worry."

"I would never," Mejin chuckled.

------------

An hour later the two walked back down the pier.

"So a week from now?" Mejin said, clarifying yet again.

"A week from now we'll set sail," Twig said nodding. "So long as you get us what you promised."

"Your delivery will come," she assured him. "I'll see you then."

"See you then," he said and jumped back onto his ship.

Mejin watched as he rejoined his crew and let them know the news. A week from now they'd set sail and some of TUBA would be with them - on their way to the other side of the planet so long as Mejin got them enough baked goods to last the journey.

We don’t need more Vikings.

The man called back 'We don't have any Vikings!'

Twig Samson had no idea how he'd survive the week without pillaging. He would keep to his word, but that didn't mean he had to be happy about it. Twig tossed a dehydrated strip of potato at the man claiming there were no Vikings.

"That's what you get for not believing!" he called.

Shrimp was not happy. Two stains on his (mostly) clean shirt. TWO.

"You'll pay for this!" he shouted at the water where the two had fallen, baring his fists. "You'll pay for my shirt!"

He recieved no response. Shrimp shrugged and blamed it on his stature. People just weren't scared of him.

The man surfaced, wearing a bandolier with salsa jars on it. He pulled out what looked like a jelly gun, but loaded with a salsa jar instead of jelly. He aimed and fired into the ocean, yelling "TODOS GRANIZO SALSA, HERETIC"

All of the ocean in sight turned into guacamole, leaving only one splot of salsa.

"This represents how good guac is compared to salsa."

The man surfaced, showing off his soulcaster.

"Made in ancient times to create guacamole."

There had been enough. Twig was angry. His ships were designed for water, not guacamole.

He glanced around for a minute wondering what to do about it.

"Take your feud elsewhere," he said to the two in the water. "Or face our wrath." Twig wasn't sure what that would include, but it sounded scary and he put on an angry face.

Since that guy managed to get walk on guacamole, I feel like I have every right to do this. Didn't want to, but you forced my hand.

Except Twig wasn't there. And neither was the rest of the boat. Slightly farther away, Twig smiled and sppreciated Mejin's Lightweaving that kept them from sight.

"Hmm," the man tapped his chin for a few seconds, then pulled out a bowl. He whispered into the bowl, "Todos granizo salsa" then pointed it at the guac ocean. Salsa began to flow out of the bowl in a trickle, then a flood, swamping the guac and covering the ocean with red spicy goodness.

Damaya walked down to the harbour and looked around, searching for someone she could hire. It took her a while, not every captain was willing to take the risk of such a long journey, but in the end the crysts she had taken from the house convinced an older man, that seemed to be respectable to her. He was willing to take her friends as well, and so she paid him more, than was due, but she didn't really care about the money. In the end is wasn't really her own and leaving for a while was worth any price.

Let's say that it's been a while before we came here so that the other characters also had a chance to pack up/do whatever they needed to do on the mainland. We can just write those scenes in CDS if needed!

Araha walked up beside Damaya, her cloak on but hood down. The events back at the household were still there yet somewhat distant, like a dream. Afterward, they made a quick detour by Araha's home village on the way here and Araha was happy that Damaya had met Master Soren, it seemed to have helped both of them really. Soren also gave Araha a parting gift, and Araha needed to learn exactly how to use it, or even if she wanted to use it in the first place.

She looked on toward the sea, she'd only really seen illustrations of it and never what it actually looked like and it was beautiful. She looked to her friend with a smile, "how does it feel to be close to the sea again?"

"Gah, the man yowled," The man said, and unslung what looked like a sniper rifle from his back. He loaded a tiny container of Tabasco into it and fired at the shield, breaking it with the power of spicy stuff.

"It's great."

She replied to Araha and smiled at her. It was good to see her better, to see her friend laughing again. And yet she couldn't help but remember the woman. Time, she needed time and everything would be alright again.

Damaya watched as the continent slowly disappeared. All of her friends, who had wanted to, were coming with her, on an expedition. She still felt slightly dizzy at the thought, that they were really coming with her, that they had decided to follow her on this. But it felt great.

She stood there watching as the coast got smaller and smaller, smelled the scent of the ocean and with a sigh pushed away everything that had happened. She'd look forward first and then, when she felt strong enough look backward again.

Riathor hovered in the air above the ship, following its course exactly while also matching its speed. This was because he was stabilized with metal only on the ship. As the ship moved, so did he.

He did this to get a better view. He found himself doing this more and more. A better view to see, a better sight to understand.

The coastline disappeared, but Riathor was still confused.

Pry was not seasick. She never got seasick. That just wasn't something she did. Nope definitely not. But if that wasn't the case, why did she feel nauseous?

Oh, right. she thought. Just the concept of going to the unknown wilderness. It's gonna be fine. Perfectly fine. And you are not going to die out there.

She looked out into the distance. Water. She turned around. Water. On all sides. Pry stifled her panic and took a deep breath. It was going to be a long two weeks.

The wind blew furiously as Max stood on an isolated section of the harbour. The fog was growing thicker, and Max’s armoured figure left an imposing silhouette to any who saw.

He’d gotten a cape, recently. Medium Turquoise, just like his armour. A single white glyph lay on its back. Now, it trembled in the weather.

He had a meeting here. They’d told him to find someplace secure. Here he was.

A figure materialized from the air next to Max. He was draped in a collage of different colors of grey. The wind snapped the loose fabric back and forth.

"Good, you got the message. I was worried that I would arrive here in the Alleyverse before the message. Anyways I need your help. I have discovered some things that might interest you. Though we will need to be at a more secure place than this. If you trust me to Transport us there, that is."

Sephtis looked at the thickening mist waiting for a reply.
