I'm still wanting to get back to it, but we just got thrown a collective bargaining curveball and I have feeling I'm going to become more busy rather than less for a bit...

lol yeah. I knew November had the potential to get busy depending on how well or poorly things went, but today's development was extremely not on my bingo card. Not sure yet if it'll be a mostly good thing or a bad thing overall, but in the immediate term it's a pain in the rear.

lol, in our case the evil corporate scumbags are also the government (go figure) but the particulars of one of the big contracts came out in a way that caught everyone flat-footed, so now we're having fun with the downstream effects.

Did you see Neil DeGrasse Tyson's reboot of Cosmos a few years back? In the first episode he talked about the Church burning someone at the stake for defying the Ptolemaic model of the Solar System. He mentioned that the Pope handed him off to the Mayor of Rome to actually do the execution. What he didn't say is that the Mayor of Rome was a cousin of the Pope. It's a really old pattern, and it's still happening today.

If you haven't already, make sure you let me know by DM what email address you'd like to receive submissions at so I can add it to the list (apologies if you've already done that, my brain is not connecting your username to an email address right now) and make sure you reciprocate with some of the other submissions coming through. We ask everyone to provide at least one critique of another work when they submit, and of course everyone is welcome to participate more than that
