Practice. Lots of practice.

It also helps that I’m a writer at heart, and so it’s very easy for me to yap.

And I struggle to write more than one sentence for ELA assignments...

Every so often, I like to create a new thread to continue the story of an era. Usually these are separated into "episodes" with the purpose being it makes it easier and less daunting for new players to join in, as they dont feel like they need to read the last 10 or so pages of RPing. Looking at the current state of interactions, I imagine that now (or soon) would be a good time to open up a new episode. Nothing really changes episode to episode, it is pirely just to break things up a bit for new players. Is anyone opposed to me making a new episode thread?

Unopposed.

Edit: sorry for the lightning response, I was checking Sanderson Elimination.

Sounds great! I actually just came over here to ask about that.

I’m good with that

Yk, I was just thinking how it’s kinda funny we could also name this episode “Troubles in New Hallandren”…

Also where do y’all wanna take the story from here? I am somewhat regretting not leaving some hint about the Crimson Breath’s plots for Ebon to follow

I know Steel Speedster is up to something with that crime meeting thing, would you mind giving us some more info (and maybe letting us crash it 👀)

I don't really know what's going on, mostly following Speedster while I figure out the rp.

I mean, if you want the crimson breath to be a leading part of the narrative (which you would probably have to head), that can certainly be done. I'll be opening episode 2 with the interrogation scene, which could either be used to further the plot or be used to further relationships with the three folks

We’re in the middle of a scene, but nothing’s really happened yet, so now would be a better time to cut to a new episode than later.

I definitely wouldn’t mind more people jumping in on this plot line. I wasn’t planning on anything huge happening, but if people are interested in this being a major plotline, I can work with that too. Currently, I would prefer not to say too much about what’s happening, but I can certainly provide any info needed to get people involved. A little bit of info will be revealed organically pretty soon though.

I just don’t know what Perses and Ebon are gonna be doing from here

I mean, first we finish off this scene, and depending on where what happens with it, we can figure out what to do next. Perses will likely head back to Wickwillow Manor, where I can describe the oddities occurring there, and potentially use that as a plot point if folks want. However, the Crimson Breath and whatever is going on in the underground could also be valid plot threads to pursue.

Oh, yes they are, sorry. I guess I was being a little too secretive. But, yeah, same place.

Maybe, but I would like to finish up with @Akimikoisthecutest, perhaps with Cricket getting away. But once that's done, sure.

side note for y'all: I'm thinking of (probably next era) turning Belias into a big bad as he finally can invade Alleycity. My current plan is as follows (contains spoilers for what's going on with Belias and Perses, and will go into spoilers for what I'm planning to have happen, so only click if you want that mystery to be unveiled out of character):

Spoiler

So for a bit of context, here's the history of Belias.

Belias is an alleybeing that adapted to grow in power through ingesting investiture (similar to larkins). Belias has no physical form, and his domain in the Alleys is literally his being.

One day, Belias found an incredibly strange anomaly: a permanent Alleyway. This Alleyway, for one reason or another, does not close unexpectedly. Because of this, Belias had time to research it and uncover how it works.

Through doing this, he gained the ability to do two things:

1) to abuse where some people or things wind up from Alleyways that lead from the multiverse into the Alleyverse. In the split second where someone or something travels through one of these Alleyways, Belias is able to instead transport the person/thing directly into his domain in the Alleys, feeding off of its investiture (or investiture equivalent) and grow in power passively through that method

2) take control of the permanent Alleyway and physically push the Alleys through it , and him controlling the entrance, means that only he can control the portion of the Alleys that exist in the physical realm. This is what Wickwillow Manor is.

As of the present, Belias roughly has the strength and presence of the stormfather. He is highly invested, and is much stronger than most alleybeings, so has few competition among them. From the outside of the Alleys, Belias' domain appears as a harsh crimson wall in an orb shape.

The only issue is that Belias, like any alleybeing, cannot exist in the Alleyverse. While Belias in his experimentation has managed a fusion of the Alleys and the Alleyverse, he has not managed to properly exist in the physical realm.

However, he is on the cusp of discovering how to create a loophole. If Belias manages to trick Perses, he can inhabit perses' body and alter the location of the Alleyway, so that Perses' body becomes the permanent Alleyway. This means that at the epicenter, Belias, through possessing Perses, would be able to travel the physical realm, in a fashion.

Bascially, the whole weirdness of Wickwillow manor (space bending in on itself and distorting in a weird manner kinda like a hybrid of a Doctor Who TARDIS and Doctor Strange's mirror dimension) would operate in a radius around Possessed Perses, allowing Belias to bend the world around him in like a 10 foot radius, manipulating any non-invested matter without a soul.

To keep this from being too OP, I'm thinking of creating a split personality-style thing, where when Perses is in charge, he has his regular powers (A steel, Iron, and bronze and F-Tin), and when Belias is in charge, he has the power to sap investiture and morph matter. Mind you, this would still be incredibly powerful, and Belias would become the big bad for sure, but it would still be beatable...with some teamwork

My only problem with this concept is that I would have to be very on top of the Alleyverse, and it would sort of be an "everybody against one person" type of scenario, which could absolutely become stale. So for now I'll keep workshopping it, but if any of y'all have suggestions on how it could be made to be more interactive, I'm all ears.

Ooohhh sounds cool

I kinda want to have the Crimson Breath be the big bad for this era, I’m planning something

How many episodes do we estimate per era?

However many is necessary. It really doesn’t have a set amount
