“Kind of, but more eagle-ish. Ours are nice and tame.”

"Oh! You mean a Gruffudd! Like this?" He sculpted a griffon out of fire in his hands. "Part Loin, part eagle, with horse hooves?"
He has no idea what a bunch of these words are, and I love that!

“Speaking of which, we might want to get back to that in a moment. I found a Narrator who just lost his plot armor, so we’ll have some more power to work with.”

A Narrator has died without his power being fragmented and destroyed? Nameless sighed with a half-real sound. Honestly. What was he doing?

14 hours ago, Dragonheir said:

“Admittedly, I am lost. What do you call this land?”

"You don't..." The guard squinted at him. "This is the kingdom of Marind. If you are a traveler, how did you get past the beasts?

She sighed. I… I know. I apologize for my outburst. Your cause is admirable.

Inexperienced. Hah. I’m not supposed to be inexperienced, but the nature of my creator introduces very annoying constraints. I fear I will end up as nothing more than a companion and commentator…

She frowned, deeply disturbed by the idea.

Bah. You hardly need experience, what with the low quality of Narrators and the like these days. You'll be just fine.

14 hours ago, TwinStorm said:

"Oh... okay." Perseus nodded. He hated to do this, but it was the only way.

"All right. I'll draw them off. Wait until I've distracted them, then run for it." Palsu picked up the broken spear that the Shade had been using and charged off into the camp silently.

Moments later, an alarm went up, shouts and cries echoing through the camp.

14 hours ago, TwinStorm said:

The hunters spoke amongst themselves, but slowly, more and more stepped forward. Thirteen, on the platform. More  than half the hunters remaining after Cricket had gone through with them.

I'm going to assume that Cricket was a typo, but let me know if I'm wrong.

Malevolence pressed a few buttons, transporting the thirteen hunters away. He turned an imperious stare on those who remained. "So. Will you follow me?"

The hunters who had been teleported appeared onto a green hill overlooking a large walled city. Surrounding the city were four massive rifts that stretched into the sky, jaggedly curving in a partial dome above the city. The rifts opened into an endless darkness, and shapes moved within them. New cracks spread from one of the rifts as the hunters watched, moving towards the rift on its left. Soon, it seemed, the city would be utterly surrounded by the void.

1 hour ago, Sequence said:

Sequence jumped, nearly losing her balance and leaning heavily on her cane. Aelinor immediately drew her sword and jumped between Sequence and Malevolence, her strong stance and menacing demeanor immediately betrayed by the fear in her eyes.

"Goodness me!" Sequence exclaimed, waving for Aelinor to relax. "You gave me quite a fright!" She said with a laugh. She pulled up her own chair previously fashioned from some castle rubble and sat across from Malevolence.

"Yes, that would be me! And I suppose you're Malevolence? I've heard much about you as well!" She said, smiling brightly and clasping her hands together. "Lovely to meet you! How are you, this fine day?"

"I am well enough." Malevolence ignored Aelinor as he had Unintelligible, a cup of tea appearing in his hand. "Although I have been better." He gestured to the numerous medical devices attached to him, then took a sip of tea. "I understand you have questions for me?"

“Beautiful,” she breathed, reaching for the candle.

Just before her fingers brushed it, the candle faded. A new one winked into existence off to the left, ahead of her.

Glen didn’t see that one, though. He saw one off to the right, instead.

Glen's mind raced

But his body moved involuntarily, hand slipping off of Gail's shoulder as he walked into the darkness.

N-no . . . are they still here, like you . . . ?

Frrrrrr

Utility nodded.

And then he left. The people's feet and legs became stuck to the stone, and wouldn't come away.

He gestured for Terry and Bob to follow him, then went to the lower levels and ordered them to do the same as they'd done before.

It was quieter. There were far, far fewer people on the second level, perhaps fifty or a hundred. Nobody cried or looked scared at all. Most were old, and the youngest could only be around seventeen. They seemed… resigned.

Five’s mother stared at her, her gun still trained on Starlight. “Neither of you are going anywhere. Try to leave and see what happens”

Five stepped in front of Starlight.

“Don’t you dare hurt him,” she choked.

The scientist hesitated for a long, long moment, but then her shoulders slumped and she followed him.

Whispers filled his ears, garbled and overlapping.

Starlight lifted his hand and placed it on her shoulder. “Please, don’t. I don’t want you to have to die for my sake.”

ok so i decided to try and join again and thought up a character i think will be fun to do :D i assume magic exists here

i'm just gonna put her out here and you can choose to engage if you want cuz idk how else this works

A girl with long, wavy brown hair sat on a flat wooden swing tied to a tree, humming into the breeze. Her skin was pale, her eyes paler. She was tall and slender, and her twentieth birthday was rapidly approaching. She was alone but looked content to be so. There was an empty spot next to her on the swing.

You'll be fine. Nameless repeated. I mean, it's not like you've got much competition in the Narrator department. Subversion's trapped in with the Enullers, Bacon's author is mostly inactive, and I'm basically powerless. your only real competition is Rebus.

"Apparently, I have to remind you all that you have no power here. Terry? How do you think I should make an example out of them?"
