He peered at the skyline of the town, searching for the castle where the king no doubt lived. Surely he, or his advisors if the king himself was too overcome with grief to speak with adventurers personally, would have further information.

Regulus, unfortunately, could see no castle like building. While there was a rather large wooden building towards the center of the town, further information found this young adventurer, before he could search it out.

“Ho boy!” Shouted someone to Regulus. “It ain’t worth it.” Said the grizzled old man that had passed Regulus on the road. Now on foot, the old man was shorter than the young man, due to a rather bad hunch. He had his elderly horse in tow, and seemed none too pleased. “Ain’t no princess stolen. When I told you the big ol’ dragon was ol’, I meant real ol’. Me own grand pappy thought the ol’ beast died of ol’ age! But it didn’t, and it took no princess. Took some peasant girl, a real nobody peasant girl.” The old man gnashed his gums in anger at this. “Couldn’t ev’n find her parents to see if they’d give her hand in marriage to me! But it ain’t matter, ain’t nobody gunna save no peasant girl. She’s probably missin’ teeth. And I ain’t like no woman missin’ teeth.” With that, the grizzled old man left the town, cursing about women without teeth as he did so.

Her smile faltered, and she thought suddenly back to their conversation in the woods.

Well . . . he'd only been doing his best to help. And they were both doing better . . .

“Oh yes.” Said the nondescript person, with a nondescript smile, “Did you see the big wooden building? It’s the small one next to it. You’ll know which one.” Then the nondescript person turned back to doing their nondescript thing.

Regulus thought that many of the houses could be defined as a 'big wooden building'. But he supposed that the big one at the center of the town was probably what the nondescript person was referring to. He hurried over to it, scouring the buildings near to it for any sign of an inn.

The building directly next to the big, wooden mansion — which was buzzing with an unusual amount of activity, including a seemingly very irritated princess that was in fact not captured — was indeed considered ‘small’, compared to its larger friend. A sign with the words ‘Big ol’ inn’ hung on the outside.

Regulus found this naming scheme oddly familiar, but he couldn't quite place where it was from. Regardless, he headed inside to find some answers about the kidnapping.

A woman greeted Regulus as he entered, clearly the bartender, she had a no nonsense look about her, as she looked the young man over, and raised an eyebrow at him. “What’cha want? The big ol’ inn ain’t got any rooms left. Too many ‘hero’s’ ‘ere to save the princess. But incase you ain’t heard, ain’t no princess get stolen.” Then she grinned, although she had several missing teeth. “You should have seen my ex-husband’s face. He ain’t comin’ back here anytime soon.”

The woman snatched up the coins rather quickly, and returned with a bowl of something, because the stew part of it was questionable. “This is all we got, left over from last month. And ain’t nobody not gunna tell you where the big ol’ dragon is. He’s right outside the town, in its cave, waitin’ to battle a prince. But ain’t no prince gunna save that peasant girl, so she probably ain’t gonna live long.”

Someone else came into the inn, drawing the innkeeper away, leaving Regulus in thought. A man came over to Regulus and asked, “What's your business in town?”
