Bat was still very worried. Maybe he could chase it off. 

He moved to where he wasn't visible from the beach, then stuck the... the fuzzy aboveground thing with the Notblade. What did these things like? Did they eat carrion? 

He made a big, scary beast appear for the fuzzy thing, hoping it would scare the squirrel away. The beast roared. 

you probably know this but the Notblade doesn't actually cut

The squirrel didn't run away. Instead, it froze and tried to stay as still as possible in order to remain undetected.

I imagine Bat as a very mild curser. Like, "aw heck" and stuff. I don't know why but I felt saying that was necessary to his overall vibe

Tam skittered out of the castle, running up to where the squirrel had landed. It hissed angrily at Bat before turning to her. It sniffed her curiously, then tapped her shell softly with one of it's clawed fingers. It sat on the sand and waited to see what she did.

"Aw, it's so cute!" Tam said happily. "I shall call you Fluffy." She turned back into her normal self and picked Fluffy up carefully, petting him. He didn't react in any violet way, so she set him on her shoulder and walked back over to Besota.

“I could tell you the story,” he said, “of a woman so wonderful sunlight touched everywhere she walked. I could tell you of darkness and heartbreak and cruel twists of fate. I could tell you the story of a man broken beyond repair, healed in the wrong shape. 

“But I’m sure you’ve heard enough of those stories from my daughter.

The squirrel did not react in any violet way. It did, however, react in a rather violent way, choosing to slash Tam's shoulder once he was put on it.

And if I do? His Narrationblade inched closer to Hidel's side, and he turned invisible again. He seemed to have left to any that couldn't sense his presence.
