Bacon scratched his head. "Uh... give us back the soul and I'll forgive you for breaking into my castle?"

A predilection for order, longer lifespan, and less vibrant coloration. Also potentially a preference for the cold and the dark.

Wait I thought that was Beosta talking XD

PRETEND THAT NEVER HAPPENED, EVERYBODY.

You just described me without the longer lifespan

Shouldn't be too hard to write 😉

And for stabbing me! Sort of.

You know what I mean.

I like that. They’ll also generally be less emotional.

Sounds great!

Uh oh, thought Bacon to Shoe and Beosta. I don't think I'm capable of being serious-!

Didn't they already ask you to leave, like, two times? We'd probably have a better chance at negotiating peacefully if you weren't here.

No offense, of course! he added.

Ouch.

"Uh," said Bacon. "How about I go and my friends work out a deal?"

. . . I forgot about the mechs.

Okay . . . now we . . . ask them what they want in return for the soul?

Well, no, we should probably offer something first. Try to stay in control of the situation and all that.

Something like what? We don’t have anything of value.

Yeah . . .

Well, it doesn't seem like they want it near them. We could just offer to take it far away from here, like we did earlier?

Nogard watched her go, moving gracefully from stone to stone. The portal stones bent space in a way that was painful to look at, but somehow he didn't mind.

"What was that all about?" Selppaenip asked ... in a low voice.

"I think," ... replied in an even lower voice. "that Subversion wishes to keep her true powers hidden for some reason. I believe that going along with it will be a wise decision."

"Is he not secured, in your custody right now? Oh, I guess technically right now he's in TP's custody, but with all of you here, is he not secured?"

The General's eyes turned to the unconscious Great Wizard. "Hardly. he could call his rabbits to aid him if he were awake. With this creature's help as well," She gestured to TP. "he might well escape. You may speak to him once he is securely locked inside a cell and cut off from his rabbits."

"That would make significantly more sense. I thought it was interesting that we were all supposed to be scared of Blades that could be claimed by only a select group of people."

He trailed off, thinking of his solution to that problem. It would've been relatively easy to get the Ennullers to lock all of them up (compared to some of the other things that had been done at least).

"Yes. And before we finish, was that a specific person in the trial? If so, can you tell me who it was?"

"It was no one specific. Just a random person who claimed the lesser of the Blades. Now, let's begin." The Dreamsmith set his hammer down on the anvil and stared deeply at Platypus. "Your soul is quite a mess, but the tool may help with that." The Dreamsmith breathed in, then out. He took up his hammer, and began to work.

To start, the Dreamsmith created the form. A tiny outline, made from wavering threads of light appeared upon his anvil. He reached out and plucked at this outline with one hand, deftly altering the blueprint until it was to his liking.

"Next comes Power and Reality," The Dreamsmith murmured. Carefully, he reached out to Platypus and plucked a thread from the barely-stable mass of energy that was his soul. carefully, he wrapped this thread around the form of the tool on the anvil, then gently lifted the hammer and tapped once. A brief flash of light followed, and the soul bound itself to the outline perfectly, forming a small metal object that shimmered with a fading light.

The Dreamsmith quickly picked the completed tool up and walked with it over to Platypus. "All that is left now is the Name, which I shall leave to you. Behold your tool, capable of fending off practically any Enuller." With that, he handed the object over, a metal pen carved in intricate detail, perfectly fitted to Platypus's writing hand. "With this, you can fill out any paperwork necessary to keep the Enullers off your back, or to request their aid! Do be careful of signing or writing contracts with it though, as it does contain a part of your soul within it. But, then again, you may find that helpful!" He set down his hammer, rubbing his right shoulder uncomfortably. "Are you content with this, Platypus?"

"The machine will recycle time. That is all it does."

The Brave Adventurer glanced around the room, having remained silent all this time. "Onyx," He whispered, voice so low as to be inaudible to anyone without magical hearing powers. "Are you willing to help my order secure the most dangerous Plotblades?"

Maybe. But I don’t know if that’ll be enough.

Me neither. But it's a start . . . and I have no idea what else to offer.

Beosta relayed the offer.

The woman hesitated. “If you’ll take one of our own with you to enforce this.”

That surprised Beosta.

The group stood and waited for Subversion to open the portal.

The voice was very slightly bitter.

“That’s it?” Beosta asked.

“I mean, you’ll owe us. Unofficially. For the great favor. But yes, that’s it.”

“Deal!”

A couple murmurs went through the crowd when the woman stepped forward and handed Beosta the sphere. The woman cast them all annoyed looks. “Take that useless lump,” she muttered, gesturing to Bat.

Beosta opened her mouth to mention how not nice that was, then closed it. She didn’t want to risk the deal.

@xinoehp512

i cudnt find the quote, so here

”Time…” Ista said. “How… hmm… let me see…”

Ista started sketching out all she knew about the flow of time, and it’s localization.

Tenth Square had activated the most complex function of the A-43. Invisibility. It had taken years to master, but the Assassin Model 43 mech was finally fully functional.

"Hmm. What if I made you a string that would pull you back here when your father got home?"

Bacon also wondered if Beosta knew the reason for the group's fear.

Salem hesitated. She knew she could not stay there for long...

¨Okay.¨ she said softly, then stood up from the little stool.

"Put simply, ennullers counter narrator powers. Nullite is just our power taken physical form. And I believe your tattoo is made of  refined nullite."
