Salem wasn't part of the group where everyone else is. She was on her own, alone, in a house. Bacon just showed up.

A couple murmurs went through the crowd when the woman stepped forward and handed Beosta the sphere. The woman cast them all annoyed looks. “Take that useless lump,” she muttered, gesturing to Bat. 

Beosta opened her mouth to mention how not nice that was, then closed it. She didn’t want to risk the deal. 

Huh. Okay then. Shoe walked over to Bat.

Will they give us the soul now?

Salem wasn't part of the group where everyone else is. She was on her own, alone, in a house. Bacon just showed up. 

"The machine is functional," said Onyx. 

Salem looked up in wonder. there was just so much food. Her eyes opened wide, and for a moment, she could think straight. why was he giving her all this food? was it free? did he need her help with something? her eyes narrowed at Bacon, suspicious.

“Thank you,” she whispered, clutching it. 

The woman moved to Bat and shoved a satchel at him, then said something in a clipped sounding language. Bat looked at the ground, nodded, and stepped towards Beosta and Shoe. 

Shall we go?

The Dreamsmith quickly picked the completed tool up and walked with it over to Platypus. "All that is left now is the Name, which I shall leave to you. Behold your tool, capable of fending off practically any Enuller." With that, he handed the object over, a metal pen carved in intricate detail, perfectly fitted to Platypus's writing hand. "With this, you can fill out any paperwork necessary to keep the Enullers off your back, or to request their aid! Do be careful of signing or writing contracts with it though, as it does contain a part of your soul within it. But, then again, you may find that helpful!" He set down his hammer, rubbing his right shoulder uncomfortably. "Are you content with this, Platypus?"

"What about any Enullers who have gone rogue? Very few of them respond to the proper paperwork anymore, besides the ones maintaining the Wall. Can it help me with them?" He checked himself before he kept asking questions. "Sorry, I don't mean to sound ungrateful. I'm just caught off guard. I don't remember you telling the last people to come to you so clearly what they do, and I was expecting to have to solve some sort of riddle or mystery surrounding the weapon. It's throwing me off. I apologize."

Platypus thought for a minute, before the Dreamsmith rubbing his shoulder caught his eye.

"Is there something wrong with your shoulder? Perhaps something I can help with?"
