"If you think you can never be normal, then you are not watching closely enough. Do not look for what I do, but for how I do it. Now come on, we're close to our destination."

The Dreamsmith, wherever he resided, felt the portent of Platypus's coming, and fired up his forge.

The Brave Adventurer reached out and grabbed something from the table before him. He snapped his fingers, breaking the spell that gave the rabbit invisibility. "You see? He sends his spies among us! This is the final proof of his trea-"

The Brave Adventurer, along with everyone else in the room, turned in shock to stare as first Tull, then Erif, then Yrank, then a talking squirrel appeared. Then the Valiant One sprang to his feet, Shardblade forming in his hands. "How dare you intrude here?" In moments, the group was surrounded by a sea of angry adventurers with swords drawn.

The Brave Adventurer frowned down at them, still holding the rabbit in his hand. "Who... are you? Do you work for the Great Wizard?"

@The H

Tull pushed one of the swords away lightly, and continued. “We were not spying on you. We fell through a portal, and ended up here. But I think someone else could have been using the portal to spy, and they just left when they heard us fall through.”

”I have never heard of the Great Wizard.”

why does he have a rabbit in his hands?

Erif gave them a glare that hopefully communicated "shut up and stop talking."

They were being spied on by an invisible rabbit. (Which gives a pretty big hint as to the identity of the Great Wizard). The Brave Adventurer broke the invisibility.

What Colour is the rabbit?

Platypus tried to recall what he had learned about visiting the Dreamsmith. It was a struggle, and he may have to have his Author look at prior pages where it happened. He didn't remember much, and figured Narrating himself to the Dreamsmith, or Creating a reality where he was at the Dreamsmith was too lame and thus wouldn't work.

"No. I don't," said the talking squirrel. "I don't know the rest of these people though. They might. I am a servant of Platypus, but I'm on my break. I have a week vacation right now and thought it might be cool to go to the Coast of Elron when some stupid magic dragon teleported me here, and now I'm getting accused of working for someone I don't even know, and this is why I never go on break!" He sucks in a huge breath.

"And can any of you tell me where I am? And also, Mr. speaker-dude, you didn't answer my question. Which Plotblades are you referring to?"

Erif slowly got more and more cross-eyed as he listened to the loquacious squirrel.

"Uh," he said. "Who is Plot? Who is the Witherlord?"

Turning to Erif, the squirrel continued, "Plot was a dude that was the embodiment of plot itself several hundred pages back. He was the original wielder of Vengeance, the original Plotblade. Now his power is inside the many different Plotblades. The Witherlord, if I recall correctly, is the leader of the Withergeists. He is a being of incredible Chaotic-Dark energy."

"Uh," said Nogard weakly. "Maybe you could give us a crash course on those too?"

They're new, cut them some slack :P

In the cave where Nogard, Shoe, OA, Zanitar, and others were, Qodi inexplicably wasn't.

I know that, but Zanitar doesn't. And to be fair, these are some important things for the current plot, so he'd expect adventurers to know about them.

"Plot was a dude that was the embodiment of plot itself several hundred pages back. He was the original wielder of Vengeance, the original Plotblade. He died, and his power was forced into his Blade, Vengeance. Vengeance couldn't contain the massive amount of power, so it split into many Plotblades. We don't actually know how many there are, but there are a lot. Narrationblades are are special Blades, similar to Shardblades, belonging to Narrators. They are made of Narrivitum, or Prismite. They have a couple special powers, but generally aren't that important in the current Era. Ennullers are what keep TLT from leaking into the rest of the world, and what trap Narrators here so they don't destroy the world."

"Does that make sense?"

Withergeists? thought Erif. What are those?

Clearly he'd stumbled into something big. That was good- he needed big- but he wouldn't be able to accomplish anything until he knew what was going on.

I just need to find the book. Surely that will explain everything.

Selppaenip frowned. Those were particularly confusing words. He supposed that must mean they were particularly wise.

TP wagged his tail excitedly as they approached the Chinese restaurant. He thumped Selppaenip with his snout.

"Ah yes," grunted Selppaenip. "TP wishes to order whatever on the menu is hottest."

"Very well. But before we go inside, let me show you something." ... pointed to a random person walking by on the street. "Tell me, what do you see when you look at that man?"

The Honorable Judge gazed authoritatively at the sorry group of accidental spies "I'm afraid we can't get you a lawyer, unless you'd accept one from our organization. Sorry. Secret society rules and all. But do not worry, your trial will be as fair as it can be, under the circumstances."

The Brave Adventurer snorted, dropping the now-visible rabbit into a cage held by an aide. "I find their stories ridiculous! Of course they know who the Great Wizard is! They're obviously spies for him, perhaps even assassins! And if you think I'll just tell you what the Plotblades are... well, I am not fool enough for that." He looked around the room again, then frowned. Not when that knowledge could be traced back to me, at least. "Still... Perhaps a little information would be appropriate. The members of our organization must have some idea of what they are looking for, if they are to find it before anyone else. Very well. These Plotblades... they are linked in a way very few are. They empower individuals in very different, but similar ways. If two people found and wielded them, then one or both of them would inevitably be destroyed by the other, but not until TLT was a ruin." He stared directly at the squirrel. "Does that satisfy your curiosity? Now, off to the dungeons with them! We must discuss our actions toward the Great Wizard, and have no time to dwell on the punishment of his lackeys."

Brave adventurers approached the group warily, holding enchanted chains. "Please don't make this any harder than it has to be," one said, holding a spear in a firm grip. "Resist, and you'll only strengthen the case against you."

"That should take us where we wish to go." the Once-Author said, lowering his hand.
