December XXVII had much experience with being made fun of.

She'd been cursed as a child.

Her mother had casted "Crucio" on her as a child.

The Crucio curse was actually very different than the Cruciatus curse, despite sharing it's name with the Cruciatus incantation. Instead of causing extreme pain, it caused complete degeneration of social skills. While the effects were normally temporary, December had for some reason retained the effects of the curse well into her middle age.
