My narrative power was corrupted when the blob absorbed it. As soon as they get free I will be under their absolute control. Why else would I have volunteered to guard this rock? And why else would I have fallen asleep even though the enchantments in this chamber make it impossible to do so? Their champion influenced me, as well as tapping into my power to give him a boost. I can't fight them.

Well my imagination tells me that it would be impossible to narrate someone on both sides of this conflict, and that it will heighten the narrative tension to do this, so I am sticking with this.
