"Oh, yes!" Sophie said. "Oh, yes, I'll help! Anything, I can do. Please."

Aqua went silent again.

Here, she said at last, in an oddly hushed tone. With that, Sophie felt a brush of power flood her soul. Use... use this.

She was fairly salty about this.

I’m so sorry

Waluigi didn’t like pickles.

Sophie gulped. It was an odd feeling, being given access to such power. But if it could help, she was more than willing to use it. She narrowed her eyes in determination, harnessed the wealth of energy and once again Narrated the power of the great storm, willing the sky to sob.

2 whole days, guys? Come on!

Aridith, Black Holed supreme, slumped on his throne, contemplating. His wife and son lay dead at his feet—they hadn’t been strong enough. A pity.

He did not feel sorrow, for sorrow was beneath him. The lust for revenge was such a human thing. Aridith was no human.

“Kaiix,” he said. “Where might the assassin be?”

Kaiix pulled himself up by the hem of his master’s robe. “Hala says they are boarding their ship.”

“Excellent,” Aridith mumbled. “Catch him before he leaves and bring him to me.”

”But, master,” Kaiix inquired. “You specifically said revenge was—”

Aridith silenced the scorpion man, slamming his fist down on the throne. “Revenge is not what I desire. This assassin overpowered my wife, which is no simple feat. They may become a powerful tool in our arsenal.”

”As you wish.” Shivering, Kaiix pulled his cloak tight, then ignited his mask’s overlay, and backed out the door into the icy wasteland.

Jaxevist made a rude sign at the mainland as the Crimson Tide sailed away from the dock. He hated- no, he despised the Stonelands. He'd only been there once- before this, of course- but once had been enough. He'd sworn never to return, both to himself and to his crew, and he'd been certain that- unlike many of his 'promises' - this one would hold.

But, of course, nothing could stand the weight of gold. Not for Jaxevist.

Probably should've charged more, he thought as he scrubbed himself down, washing every last trace of the black dye he'd used to disguise his red coloration out of his skin. He'd forgotten just how awful the place was. Harsh landscape, harsher weather, and the most arrogant holed in all the world? He'd earned every one of those thirty thousand nelkas he'd been paid for this job. At least he'd gotten to kill people this time.

Never again, he promised himself, then quickly amended that to Never again for less than fifty thousand.

Lightning sparked as the stormwraith screeched in fury. Furious tornadoes of water spun as two great powers fought for the sky.

Xinoehp cowered on the wet stone ground, near all light gone, drowning in the sea of shadow. A dark figure watched silently, tentacles of shadow stretching forth from his blackened soul.

Sophie's head began to hurt as she took in the scene and she leaned on the forcefield for support. Oh, no, she thought. Don't faint again, please don't faint... She gulped, cheeks pale as she watched Xinoehp from the safety of her shield. She found that, for as terrified as she was, she wished she could run out there and go help him. Only, she had no idea what to do. And Aqua said that making the storm was helping. She took a shaky breath, hands trembling. When are we gonna be done? she thought. I wanna go home... A single tear fell down her cheek and she continued watching her friend. Fate won't let him die, she thought to comfort herself. And TVG won't let you die. So it'll be okay. It'll be okay, Xinoehp. We'll be okay.

"Aqua," she said quietly, forcing herself to turn away. "I'm scared."

Kaiix approached the Crimson Tide carefully, holding his blade behind his back. “Assassin!” he called. “I come bearing a truce!”

TVG sighed, annoyed that she couldn't use one of her characters to get in on Author Void's plot. She didn't know what a new character might look like, and it felt awkward to just insert one.
