It was worth it though because he had a lot of money to spend and he was trying to impress Thought.

Or, well, Tamika had. She had forgotten that part of her when her Shard was taken from her though.

She had also forgotten what “the” meant.

That had been quickly recovered. But the change rippled down the timeline, causing AJ to make a foolhardy challenge and meet an early demise.

She was unimpressed. Nothing motivated her.

But it was too much to call that her "happy-place." It was more like the "place-that-makes-you-feel-like-the-world-isn't-as-happy-as-it-seems-so-it's-on-your-level".

Thought was terrible at reading cues, so she was perfectly oblivious to Tom's attempts to win her over. AJ was still her everything. And now he was gone.

Tom decided that he had to do something super over the top and obvious to win her heart.

Star had faith in him. Yes, that's right. He had a Narrator backing him this time, even if she was a depressed I'm-Still-Not-Over-Marsh Narrator.

She became Tom’s wing-woman.
