You’re so, so close. That’s almost the problem, and almost the solution. If I thought you’d done this on purpose, I’d applaud you!” Rebus laughed, bitterly amused. “The price that you demand is worse than pain, than suffering, than death. It would leave me to walk this world as a husk, bereft of a purpose or anchor. I would slowly cease to exist, or I would usurp the Narrative once more, as I did after I gave up Antagonist. And the whole Thread? If you controlled it, you’d send it to stagnation and kill us all.”

Rebus sighed. “You’re more a Narrator than I am, at this point, but you still think like a character. I will not take your deal, so I’ll offer two options of my own.”

“The first is everything you fear, and everything I want - you try whatever it is you’re planning to do, and I do my utmost to stop you, spurring real plot in the process.
“The second, though, is that I make you into me. I’m teaching Salt to Narrate, but you don’t need that - what you need is to learn to think, to let go and warp the story to your desires. I don’t care what you do with my methods, because I win regardless; that’s exactly what makes me

At first, Ribbon was hopeful. But it became clear that Rebus was not willing to concede anything.

"Perhaps," She said, not breaking eye contact with Rebus, "I will take the second option you provided. But with one stipulation- you make me into you, and you get a small small part of me. A part to keep, nothing deadly, nothing hurtful. Just a... bloody reminder."

She outstretched her hand with to make the deal with Rebus, still with that same wicked grin on her face. She meant no harm, and she really did mean it. But perhaps she could share even a fragment of experience, and Rebus would understand. Her hand stood outstretched, individual fingers twitching in uncontrollably jerky subtle motions.

"So, what do you say? Is that a deal?" She asked, "I get a portion of what I want, and you get what you want. Everyone wins."

Any real Narration would attract withergeists like a beacon. I shouldn’t use my powers, and I don’t deserve them - not if you’re suffering.” Rebus sighed, and the burn on his hand began to glow softly. “Please. Let me help you. You do deserve this.”
-

“Of course - trickery is one of my specialties. Regardless, killing people - especially immortals who don’t actually die - is rather difficult without a body.”
-

“Hmm. Yes to worldbuilding, or yes to quest?” Rebus shrugged. “I suppose bilocation is a useful skill regardless.”
-

“Observe.” Rebus said, demonstrating. “Now, other than the island plot, not much appears to be happening. Perhaps we will need to fight copyright ninjas…” he paused. “- oh, or I suppose the terrifying Plotblade singularity might be something that someone should at least look into.”

rebyl sighed and nodded. "Alright."

-

jack nodded. "Alright, so lets get him here."

-

She nodded. "Yeah! Im good at that to!!" Salt followed rebus.

-

"Would this.. effect. er well *all* plotblades? Even ones that are under your watch?"
