Cep glanced over at Rebus. "Why?" he asked, even as he batted the blades aside and frayed at their Threads.

“Because a relationship anchors me to what passes as reality, of course.”  The world unraveled easily, but what remained simply bent to Rebus’s will, Void saturating the very air. “Personally, I would avoid breaking down reality when fighting the master of that-which-exists-beyond-reality. On the other hand, I did make that; the real Witherlord has different capabilities than I.”
“Now, would you like to fight, or would you like to speak on what Could Have Been as you share the last moment with an old friend?”

The clone submitted, and collapsed into a more stable shape.

I have since slightly altered something about this—but don’t worry

all it means is that the dark shadow stuff is just immensely more dangerous.

Uuuuhhh remind me which Thread material you needed?

An ethereal, purple flame strained against and within a dark crystal, which seemed to bleed shadows.

”I would be careful. The darkness is… not healthy, for characters and Narrators alike. Nullite is no protection against it. But with enough Narration, you should be able to get at the inside.”

Rebus is building a weapon with all of them, using Nameless’s Conversion Medallion. The idea is to suck in any chaotic darkness the Witherlord uses, and then hopefully draw it out of the mixture (or blast, if it’s over-saturated) before the corruption is an issue. Luxite, being the rarest, is the limiting factor here.

“Sandboxing is an incredible tool, Afterimage. But yes, I shall take care.” Rebus held out his hand, surrounding the box in Prismite, nanotech, and greyscale flame.
Remind me, is Afterimage an emergent result of the two powers?

She sighed. "Not really but I dont want you using your last bit of powers."

Jack nodded. "We should try to trick him first. I dont wanna kill someone without reason."

She jumPed. "YES YES!"

I am, as you may have guessed, cutting this plot so I have enough time for the rest of this.
-

“Any real Narration would attract withergeists like a beacon. I shouldn’t use my powers, and I don’t deserve them - not if you’re suffering.” Rebus sighed, and the burn on his hand began to glow softly. “Please. Let me help you. You do deserve this.”
-

“Of course - trickery is one of my specialties. Regardless, killing people - especially immortals who don’t actually die - is rather difficult without a body.”
-

“Hmm. Yes to worldbuilding, or yes to quest?” Rebus shrugged. “I suppose bilocation is a useful skill regardless.”
-

“Observe.” Rebus said, demonstrating. “Now, other than the island plot, not much appears to be happening. Perhaps we will need to fight copyright ninjas…” he paused. “- oh, or I suppose the terrifying Plotblade singularity might be something that someone should at least look into.”

Uuuhhhh

Afterimage has every Thread element within

But perhaps not every Thread element accessible.

Luxite is accessible, though. As would be Prismite and Mordite.

The main combination is Order (Both Nullite and Luxite, but they are indistinguishable and indivisible) and Chaos (This is different—though it is both Chaos materials, you can also separate them). But an amount of Luxite was sprinkled on top to complete the metaphorical transformation.

The crystal seemed inert, save for the fire within. “I’ll warn you again—simply out of good faith—Nullite will only increase the danger of the Order.”

Ribbon returned from a deep stasis, cracking out of a crystalline shell around her that had materialized in her absence. She looked at her hands again, then sighed in relief.

During her meditations, she had determined that Fog was about as good as gone, just another Withered remnant of the reign of the dark one. And with it, a half of her core. It felt... corrupted, stronger, but mutated. It was a volatile and dangerous change, one that had hit her like a truck while in her meditations. She remembered it vividly.

Ribbon's ordinary muted pink robes were only slightly bleached with time, but the biggest changes were to the person underneath. Her once all-blue eyes were invaded on the right side, now flickering with a black, vorpal energy that had hints of red within. Chaotic energy crackled, ready to be released. She raised her right hand to inspect it, slowly rotating the hand as it jittered in place.

"So this is the cost of love." She whispered to herself. "This is what it takes to see the narrative."

Her onyx eye, which was previously half-closed, opened suddenly, and the red pupil within began to expand, until it seemingly consumed everything and she could see all within her domain. Her chaotic, beautiful narrative that was built by her. Yet there were still limitations. She'd lost some of her old self, the kind that treated each battle as a dance.

Ribbon held out her hand once more and tried to conjure that suppressing, calming, soothing water, but it just couldn't come to her. Instead, she found the Mordite dagger given to her by Fog drawn towards her, carved with ornate symbols and care. The pitch-black metal crackled when she contacted with it. She spun it between her fingers, watching the dagger dance around as she mused.

There were quite a few threats to her domain, to her Narrative. The most obvious one, of course, was the Witherlord. He was the driving antagonist, and by the far the most powerful person around. But it seemed like he did less than he could these days, so Ribbon presumed he would not be an issue. Besides, what she was doing was likely aligning somewhat with his goals.

Then there was Rebus. He was perhaps among the stronger characters of the thread, having persisted through the passage of time, and he was definitely stronger than Ribbon. He was more clever as well, so it wasn't like she could treat him the way she'd deal with the Witherlord. He was the top priority.

And then there was a third, chaotic force, one unbound from a Plotblade that claimed the sky. A singularity, it appeared. Dormant for a while, but highly volatile. Unlikely to pose an immediate threat, but she needed to develop contingencies for it just in case.

So it was to deal with Rebus first, she supposed. He had a weakness, and that was his children. It could make him act in a certain way, maybe be used as leverage... she paused. Was she really considering kidnapping a child? Was that the point she was at? Shouldn't she be more concerned about protecting Rebus from the undoubtedly most evil force ever known to the thread?

She spent an eternal moment in silence, then flipped the dagger in the air and caught it.

"Well, it's not like it matters anyways," she muttered to herself as she teleported away to where a Rebus was interacting with no one. @DragonHeir

A figure, disfigured, watched her. It did not mean to interrupt her conversation with Rebus, but it wanted her to know that it needed to talk to her eventually.

Hey! Welcome to TLT! To make things canon, you need to have bolded text. (I make some of my posts purple for totally legitimate and unrelated reasons)

Additionally, uhh… don’t know what youse are trying to convey w/ the post. You need an explicit character named so as to avoid gmodding (that is, controlling the plot of other players)

Kiornight watched the trio in front of him cautiously. He hadn't seen the woman fight yet, but he imagined Viridis would be capable enough, given he came here in the first place. Agony ... Kiornight wasn't entirely certain he wanted to know.

A clicking sound was the only warning he got before a slash of acid divided the glade. Kiornight leapt up, hovering close to the canopy, and watched as a dinosaur lurched into the clearing.

Hydrosaurus insidae according to the wiki (thanks KSauce!). This isn't necessarily intended to start a fight, just to resurrect the scene!

Rebus nodded. “I don’t blame you for that. But there are ways to regain Narration, whereas the destruction of the universe is rather… final.”

"What are these ways? And the destruction of the Thread means the destruction of the Wall, yes?"

Viridis glanced towards the dinosaur, but quickly turned back to Agony and Kiornight; it couldn't climb trees, so he was safe.

The creature snarled, before scanning the foliage for other prey.

"Perhaps it is important for character building, but we still suffer, Rebus." Ribbon tried to hide the animosity she was feeling. "When the thread is under my Narrative, nothing like that will ever happen again. No more pain, no more suffering. No more hurt."

She smiled sadistically at Rebus. "You'd quite like that too, I'd think. I can provide so much... you just need to forfeit your part of the Narrative."
