Oh well. That was his problem. She coiled around the man and launched into the skies, flapping majestic wings as she headed northbound.

The stars above sang. The Thread is a place of chaos and order. Space is only relative to power, power is relative to time, and time is relative to the dedication of your Author. You could be anywhere, if he wished it. Night sent a starhawk as an envoy. What story will you tell, newcomer?

The Outlier stared at the hawk. "My Author?"
He chuckled bitterly. "He's the reason I'm cursed to this endless cycle. As for my story...  I suppose I'll do whatever I can to make a difference during my time here."

He stood there, eyes growing unfocused. "That's all anyone can do, in the long term."
Sorry about the long pauses, but I have to go.

Very little of that actually happened. The Subversion that appeared in front of Fog was a dummy with googly eyes and a sloppy smile drawn on. The dummy began whacking Fog upside the head with a squeaky hammer.

The Witherlord was silent while he parsed what Fog had been trying to do.

You think, he finally said incredulously, that I am capable of forcibly summoning Narrators from wherever they hide, disabling their powers, and holding them at my mercy? He sighed, and continued in a tone of forced patience. If I could do that, there would be no Narrators left. Rebus would have been the first to go, followed by every other Narrator, then every other character. I would have no need of a lieutenant, for I would have already won.

I was encouraging you to use Fog's withergeist abilities, not godmod my characters lol.

Okay, as long as he's not recreating Luxsprite society or drowning the Witherlord in an ocean of Luxite.

"Yes, it's quite annoying." Nameless said. "I should be allowed free reign, but in truth, I don't think my Author likes me very much. But as for me simple being 'given power'..." He held up two paper bags and waggled them at 9/10. "At least I only got one Narrator's worth when I was activated."

lol sorry idk what i'm doing tbh

Some more info about what exactly Withergeists can do would be nice if you don't mind 😅

9/10mmHB#2 blinked. Of course someone would steal them that quickly. Light flashed, and the entrances to the pocket dimension were burnt away. The chaos he had released must be contained, harnessed by him and him alone.

Pain. Existence was pain. Inkwell should have seen this coming- 9/10mmHB#2 was never his friend. But it still hurt. The mordite in his veins whispered darkness, revenge, hatred. This wasn’t who he was… but he liked it. He wasn’t conscious enough to consider the implications… but the mordite gave him power. For one thing, he didn’t have to rely on others to travel the Thread. No Flaw’s sword, no Narrator’s hawks… he burned black through the vacuum of space, trying to pull himself together. This wasn’t right. He had to fix this…

The sword. He needed the sword.

"Make what go away?" Bob asked, trying to make sense of all that had happened in the moments before.

"THE- THE THIS!" she cried, waving her arms about.

"I CAN'T GET OUT!"

"so why aren't you with him." He asked suspiciously a hand moving towards his rifle on his back just in case.

-

Rebyl knew it was the withergeist as she actively killed alot of them with her giant light if you remember. Regardless and stumbled and almost fell, "how are they not all gone??"

-

jack took no hesitation and jumped forward propelled by his wings and slid a third dagger out of his belt loop and into his face

-

salt nodded, "more or less." She said and rubbed her head. "Though I know alot avout this place. And who people are. Regardless, I wanna help you!"

Levi and Trevor nodded and took off down the stairs. They both seemed more or less unphazed by atlas while rebyl didnt end up seeing her.

Amoebus continued to backpedal, clutching at his eye. Then he shook himself, pulling the dagger out and allowing his face to knit back together. Dagger in one hand, Mordite sword in the other, he swung at Jack with ferocious rapidity. As he did so, however, he spoke calmly and softly, face perfectly composed. "You shouldn't trust Rebus. He'll betray you-" another flurry of violent slashes- "because eventually, he always does."

Rebus nodded. "Good. Can you find either Nameless or Utility and get them to come here?"

I don't particularly want to hand over my core. Perhaps if you could replace it with another power? It is only a sliver, anyway. Not a full one.

As the Witherlord’s presence left him, Inkwell was left feeling drained and futile. It was cliche’d, but that thing was too powerful to stand against. He the very thought left him feeling nauseous. He needed- he needed to kill something. He needed revenge. If only he wasn’t a withergeist, he could make 9/10mmHB#2 pay for his sins. He held on to that thought, his only desperate lifeline in the ocean of a mind that was no longer his. He reached out with the connection he had to the Witherlord, following it until he found a shard- the Dragon. Then he followed it, appearing near Fog and Subversion like ink dripping out of thin air, pooling and forming a body. “f-Fog,” he managed to speak, his voice raspy and hissing. “My lord’s d-Dragon. h-He-“ he couldn’t say it. The Mordite wouldn’t let him be this weak. He reasserted himself. “You h-have something belonging to me. A gift from my brother. I want it back.”

bacon... i regret to inform you but there is something you must know.

Atlas died........ sorry bruh.

ANYWAYS PAGE 4444 LETS GOOOO 🥳🥳

Bacon's baaack

back again!

yes hes back!!

Before Bacon could process this information, page 4444 ended- and with it, the brief spark of whimsy that had awakened him.

On 3/6/2026 at 7:14 PM, Through the Living Heir said:

"I was."

-

"I don't know of anything here by that name. Can you describe-" Something rocked the ship, almost throwing them off their feet.

-

Amoebus ducked, and the second dagger thudded into his torso, slotting neatly between the Mordite in his skin. He gasped, stumbling backwards.

-

Rebus nodded. "Regardless, you seem to be new here."

As soon as the coin was out of his hand, Jack blinked once more. Everything came rushing back, and he stumbled, briefly overwhelmed. Lyric, on the other hand, would probably forget what he had been doing.

-

Rebus let out a long, shaky breath. "It gave me time. Sometimes, that's all you can ask for."

"I do." Rebus smiled. "I'm going to use our power to form a weapon which can be used against the Witherlord."

The monster didn't care much. It drove its splintery claws into the recently deceased lumberjack's chest.

He fatally wounded Cricket, and then Twinstorm put him out of his misery with a lightning bolt.

"Regardless," Rebus smiled, seeming oddly cheerful for the circumstances, "the Witherlord is back. I'm the only one here who's brought forwards a plan, so I would like your help."

The man was confused, since he hadn't been paying attention. The tree monster from earlier seemed to be tearing the bones out of the unfortunate lumberjack behind them.

"Several plans, in fact - that's the best way to ensure one will work. One of mine needs you."

"Very well," said Onyx. "What are the details of this plan?"

On 3/6/2026 at 7:14 PM, Through the Living Heir said:

Rebus assembled a crystal in front of the light, directing beams of it to several withergeists. He was too late, though, some withergeists had already made it beneath the ship, where they couldn't be reached by the beams.

"They'll likely try to break into the ship - we need to protect the energy cores."

Withergeists burrowed through the hull, seeking light and life to wither and destroy.

Night awakened. Travelers in her realm, assaulted by withergeists? They would have to find someone on a planet to assault. Invigorated by the whimsy of several non serious plot lines, she formed an avatar nearby.

Two dolphin-like creatures were created of stardust. They approached the ship and twisted around it, leaving trails of iridescent light, singing an ethereal song. The light burned the withergeists softly, provoking and distracting them.

The withergeists hissed, turning towards the stardust creatures- but before they could be distracted, a figure tore his way from the Void. Charnyx had come to oversee the assault in person.

With a wave of his hand, he commanded the withergeists to continue their assault. Then he launched himself at the dolphin-like entities.

Night bends spacetime around Charnyx, and he finds himself facing her avatar. “Leave the ship alone, servant of darkness,” she said. “I may not be able to touch the earth, but here, in my domain? Only the Witherlord would stop me from protecting ones such as these.”
