"My apologies," she said, continuing to write. "I have never encountered someone with your particular... abilities before. To be honest, I'm not quite sure how to use my own." Snapping the notebook shut, Ennalee gave 9/10 a smile, nodding to him respectfully. Something tugged at her mind faintly, but she shoved it aside, instead deciding to learn as much as she could to add to the resistance against the Witherlord. She gets glimmers like these ideas that she's in the Thread, but tends to disregard them, instead trusting logic. That’s a really cool way of doing that. Is she a Narrator or Enuller by chance? (Since true luxsprites no longer exist and withergeists USUALLY aren’t as coherent as Ennalee is. 9/10 shrugged. “Don’t worry about it.” He closed his eyes, seeming to listen to inaudible music of some time. “Don’t mind me, just trying to discern your alignment. Mine’s ordered light, as of recently.”

And that is...?" She once again pulled out the black notebook, embarrassed at her lack of knowledge. She frantically flipped through her entries, searching for something that would give her answers, but when she found nothing, she glanced up at 9/10 sheepishly, waiting for his reply. Sorry, I tried looking through the blog, but I'm still not quite sure how everything goes. Thankfully the conversation goes well with Enna's personality and her 'I need to know everything' ness.

I’ve been told that usually people have some sort of idea what their alignment is, at least subconsciously. In all likelihood, you’re either neutral or chaotic light, like most thread-dwellers. Do you have any abilities you know of?” Narrators basically can do anything, within the boundaries of what is plot appropriate. They think of it and it happens. Their substance is prismite. This is countered by Enullers, who suppress Narration and many other powers, and their substance is Nullite. Chaotic Light vs Ordered Darkness. Withergeists are chaotic dark, they are mostly mindless and destroy or kill with a touch. Mordite. Witherlord. Luxsprites used to exist by reinforcing narrative boundaries and countering withergeists, but they dont seem to exist anymore.

The universe was different now. Perhaps an Author wasn’t what it once was. Perhaps it was something that once was made into something that now is, much like herself. A teenaged girl with hopes and dreams made into a woman who’d accomplished some and seen others slip through her fingers. A warm feeling both soft and biting overwhelmed her, and she wondered if ghanderflaffles, Butt Venture, and Asneps still roamed free. Had they been forgotten? She hadn’t forgotten them, but hadn’t written of them for a long time. In realms of thought given life on digital paper, that was essentially the same thing. Maybe others had continued to write of them. Hopefully they had. Silly as they were, they’d brought a girl joy when joy was scarce. That was worth remembering. She could see that some trouble with Heaven was afoot. This universe had surprisingly distinct cycles of humor and sincerity, and seemed to currently be in one of the latter. Butt Venture certainly wouldn’t have made it into Heaven. She was pretty sure Asneps was a menace too, but couldn’t quite recall. She was evil, wasn’t she? She was… Oh. She didn’t remember. That crack in her rose-tinted glasses left a jagged edge sharp enough to draw blood. She decided to think of something simpler. Were pineapples still a common motif in this world? Those had been particularly funny. She wasn’t sure why, but she didn’t think anyone else had known why, either. Pineapples, the woman thought to herself with a slight smile. For now, that was enough. Then she looked away. Don’t mind me, just being nostalgic over here Ghanderflaffles have been mostly forgotten, sadly. And Butt Venture hasn’t been around in forever. Although one of my characters is his nephew, so he’s not entirely lost. 9 minutes ago, Through The Living Grass said: “Hard to tell. We call it plot armor.”
Through The Living Star She/Her Posted March 24 Posted March 24 "Logos, obviously, though what is this you speak of an Author?" Ennalee scoffed. "There is no such thing." Taking into consideration her altruism and analytic personality, she is likely Ordered Light aligned, even if she is a Narrator, 9/10 thought. Meaning any further experiments with creating luxite could benefit from her presence. She may even prove herself to be a candidate to finally take up Protagonist. “Oh, the gods of this world are as petty as they are brilliant,” he said. “Such wonderful adversaries. No matter. No. She was better than this. She had been left before. It meant nothing. Pulling her cloak tighter around herself, she determined she would need to find the resistance against the Witherlord. Where that was, however, she wasn't too sure. Picking a random direction, she set off, hoping that there was a city in that direction that could tell her where to find them, if they did congregate. And on the way to the resistance, she would learn to control this power, even if she still didn't know what it was or believe in the silly Authors that 9/10 had spoken of, saying that they would give her control over the power. 1

Character alignment includes neutral rows, and fundamental substances dont. It’s a shallow way of looking at it, but the first impression gives good potential for ordered light, though that’s not really possible at this time. Again, this is reinforcing these themes that 9/10 thinks he knows more than he actually does. That’s interesting to think about, actually. The voice mused. Why is it that withergeists are the only paradigm with baked-in morality? I suppose their motives could be pure, but their actions are always forced towards the evil and corruptive. Narrators are allowed to be good or evil, as are Ennullers. From what fragments we have, it seems likely that Luxsprites also were allowed to hold different moralities. But withergeists cannot. It makes one think, does it not? Perhaps in an unreality formed by Ennullers, Narrators would be the evil ones. A Doylist explanation would be that someone needs to be villainous, and dark forces of evil fill that role. But the Watsonian explanation is an intriguing conundrum. 48 minutes ago, ThatOneGuyOverThere said: thank you Vlanis looked around. "But before that, where might I find a cafe? I'm starving." A neon sign buzzed nearby as it flickered, proudly proclaiming the name of a convenient nearby cafe: A Latte coffee.
