Eden suddenly startled awake. She didn’t know it, but this was the first of many times where her author would accidentally neglect her while someone was speaking. “What kind of band?”, she blurted. “Isn’t Probably Ancient Evil happening right now?” A pig steps into the room. The combination of obscure musical references would turn the air into vanilla pudding, except there are real characters here and that would be absurd. The pig leans against the wall, its flank wet with rain.
i probably should start taking my ADHD meds again

oh shoot its page 4400 that’s cool

"Not a bad band name, that," said Bacon, dancing sideways through space into a place where the sky could become vanilla pudding if it wanted to. "A band of companions, of course! Seeking to improve the world. Through music!"

XD nice

Atrephica checked on her.

"You alright?"

"Greetings!" said Bacon the Bard. "Have we met?"

Malevolence was not surprised. Lots of people were interested in his actions lately.

The Dreamsmith ended his examination with a nod. "Very well. I shall reforge the pen to be more effective. Are you ready for me to begin?"

The Dreamsmith frowned, a little disappointed that he hadn't managed to synchronize his forgings. He shook off this feeling, raising his hammer and closing his eyes. "Every weapon needs three things." He intoned. "Power, Form, and Name."

"The Power shall come from within you, your own soul." The Dreamsmith reached out, and grasped 9/10mmHB#2's soul. A soul alien to TLT, created to destroy the story held within. The Dreamsmith took hold of this power and carefully drew forth a fragment of that soul soul, laying it on his anvil.

"The Form shall come form me." The Dreamsmith considered. Inkwell wielded a pen, so perhaps an eraser? No, that was ridiculous. This weapon would not erase powers, merely manipulate them, bend them around the wielder. And so, it came to him. The Dreamsmith brought his hammer down on the anvil, forming the piece of soul into a solid shape. Soon, the weapon took shape: A necklace made from intricate metal links, holding a sharpened folding bone as a pendant.

"And the Name, I give also." The Dreamsmith held up the necklace. "I name this necklace Annoyance of Inconsistency, for the effect it shall have." He flicked his wrist and the links of the necklace spun, locking together into a handle. He handed this dagger to 9/10.

"As a necklace, Annoyance shall protect you. You shall not be immune to powers, but Narrators or Ennullers must be most careful, skilled, delicate, and powerful if they wish to effect you. In the dagger form, it shall disrupt reality and constructs of the powers. Again, it will not do so utterly, but it will disrupt poorly made creations of Narrators, cut through minor bindings of the Ennullers, and survive most blows from Mordite weapons."

I may or may not have a document filled with my current theories and ponderings on the topic. (not a very big one yet)

I believe I theorized the range of Fog's origin to be between page 2859 and page 3062, although I can't remember my justification for that now and I didn't write it down. I know for certain (unless Glass was wrong) that Fog is older than Malevolence, so pre page 3223. I also know that she interacted at least once with Stone, Cricket's brother, and multiple times with Cricket. Fog is not Tam, Ciara, Mist, or Utility.

"They can do a great deal if they kill me before the ritual is complete." Malevolence said dryly. "You may not. I alone will see the page, and I alone will carry out the ritual. The only help I ask of you is protection while the ritual is in progress, and aid in reaching the place of ritual if it is protected by the forces of good."

Charnyx's hand remained extended. "We hold many ancient and forgotten secrets of the Great One. Surely there is some aspect of the ritual unknowable to any but us, his true believers."

there was silence as hawks thought. Ben blinked a few times. "Who are you talking to." He asked looking around.

"Uh I think its fine. To be honest, I won't know exactly cause I gotta get into thar moment right then."

"Excellent!" said Bacon.

The scene snapped into focus, Ben appearing in the alleyway where Atlas and Bacon sat resting.

Perfect. Two things: one, would you mind making a copy of me -mind and all- but without the Mordite, and two, would you give the Prismite to her?

K. I can give you the raw text file with all of the posts in it right now, or if you give me a couple days I can perform some more advanced filtering.

Sanguine twisted his arm into a jagged spike and attempted to cut a Wound through reality, to find someone to kill. But the fabric of reality resisted. He tried harder, and the spike-arm was flung backwards by an invisible force. How was this possible? The weak one had done it as easily as breathing. He growled in anger as the stars collected the space before him, the ethereal form of a woman. Night opened her eyes. “Not in my domain. The others are under my protection.” Sanguine lunged at her with the spike, but space itself twisted around him, and he found himself falling into a black hole. “You will stay here, for a time. There are too many Antagonists in the Thread already.” Sanguine tried to respond, but couldn’t. He could barely hold his form together.  Night smiled and disappeared, off to her proxy war with the Wind, or to finally see Atrephica read the letter she gave her. @Through The Living Glass

Eden grinned, keeping her balance as she was yanked away from the basement with Bacon. “That sounds fun. I assume ‘improving the world’ might include taking down some big bad? Perhaps the thing that caused that strange wave of dread?

Suddenly, as they arrived, a flash of light blinded Eden momentarily. Somehow it was impressed upon Eden that an author was intervening in her future. A sword lay on the ground a few feet away, gilded, with a blade of dark glass. It felt significant, but terrible.“Bacon… what is that?”

Night drops a letter out of the sky. It conveniently drifts into the basement at Atrephica’s feet.

ya at this point Night is just my Authorial Avatar. I think that’s how this works, at least.

Night watches in alarm as the man (help how do you use text colors on mobile) starts swatting a bird for no reason. She sprinkles stardust on the bird, healing it, and creates a starhawk to protect it.

Ah. Well it’s outdated.

The letter reads: Eden was frozen in time. Sorry. Also, when you find an opportunity, climb (or fly) to the valley of the second peak of the nearby mountain. I have left you funds for your services in this city, in rare metals from the stars. Thank you for taking care of the children,

Night.

the letter crumbles into stardust as she finishes reading.

Inkwell, my main character, is about to do something similar. Night has offered to help Isabel find him when he does so.
