"Do they have physical forms that are vulnerable in some way? We have Honorblades and gamma rays."

"Curious. Very well. I will monitor your progress via proxy." Rirrom lowered the safety measures. "I will not go with you, because He hates narrators and will kill me if He remembers. As much as I would like to pretend I am not afraid, He will remember me, and if He does, I am as good as gone."

He nodded and took Ribbon by the arm. Stepping into the shadows, the two slowly faded from the tower.

Erdikan stepped out onto the Lower Terrace, overlooking the bustling Grounds. He looked up at the pale sunlight glinting off of the high, curving walls of the city and smiled. It was nice to be back.

Checking to make sure that Ribbon was following, he made his way across the long pathway and turned one of the five corners. People made way for him; they knew not to get in his way. Finally he chose a door along the wall on the right and entered the innards of the city, coming out into what appeared to be a large library. He turned to the awaiting Archivist, who bowed.

"And what should suit my good Lord Erdikan today?"

Erdikan grimaced slightly. He hated it when the offworlders called him that.

"I'm looking for information regarding Plot Significance, the Plotblade."

The Archivist nodded. "I shall see what information can be gathered."

Erdikan drummed his fingers on a desk as he awaited their return.

"Well, I saved you for a number of reasons. You are needed to save Cep and, ultimately, save Aeryn. Also, selfishly to fulfill my own quest."

"Do you know where Cep is?" Taeidin asked. "I can tell he is in the Thread, but not his location. This is likely due to a direct Narration. The experience is... disconcerting."

Umm

I do believe it was Second, although I don't think he ever gave Renn his name.

"Yes, in fact I can. Though, it isn't any result of Narration, but rather an effect of the Mindscape. Aeryn's, to be precise."

Taeidin considered this for a moment.

"No, that would not have done it. It would have been a Narration, just likely one that was indirectly formed by an Author."

Asharak shrugged. "I suppose, after a fashion. It is the nature of the Mindscape, amd as an Authorial construction, I see that would likely count. Regardless, I do know where he is. Getting there will be much trickier, and will involve this one." He points at Erryin ( @Keke )

Oh. Well then. Just remember you agreed to this, and were somewhat excited by it, before you go getting mad at me.

A familiar voice spoke from behind them, the words smooth and sliding. "It means that I am the one who knows what to do."

It cut straight through him, the image rippling slightly.

"I'm not really here, of course. I haven't the transportation skills of myself over there." He nodded at Asharak. "I do, however, have a purpose here, and that purpose is to tell you how to help Cep, if you'll calm down and let me."

"I earned my name. I am...not a whole person. I am simply the result of pain. I recognize that. My actions were, and are, rather off mark. That has little bearing on the now, though, because I am your only chance to help Cep."

"Acceptable." Dark Cep nods to Asharak. "You are free to go finish your quest." As Asharak walks off toward the house, Dark Cep turns to Taeidin ( @Ashkaloda ). "You may accompany us, if you wish; you will not be able to use what you learn, though. You do not have much Connection to the Mindscape."

Taeidin seems entirely unfazed by this. He turns to Erryin slowly.

"Please do not attack him. He is rather important to what we're trying to accomplish."
