Yay!!!! 4200!!!!

aspen watches eyes wide. "Wow! Thats so cool" she said breathless

Ryna gave a small, approving nod, closing the Codex gently. “It’s not something I often show,” she said calmly. “The book doesn’t just record—it remembers. Lives, moments, even… feelings. Once it takes a story, it’s part of the weave forever.”

She glanced at Aspen, noting the wonder in her gaze. “You should feel honoured—it’s rare for a being like you to leave such a mark.”

Letzerp appears in the Mindscape alongside Cep and Erryin.

I guess I could also do that if you want to add him there. Depends how hidden you want to keep it. Since you're asking for the other guy...

Ryna allowed herself the tiniest smile, watching Aspen practically bounce with excitement. “I can see you really like it,” she said, her tone calm but amused. “Just… try not to drool on the pages. The Codex doesn’t like water much.”

She leaned back slightly, letting Aspen’s awe fill the quiet room. “It remembers everything, you know. Every little thing that happens—it all stays.”

"No..." Cep thinks for a moment. "D'yeh think yer abilities could point us toward 'em?"

Taeidin pauses for a minute to consider.

"Potentially, but it would not be easy. It would help if I knew more information about this person, really anything at all. And I certainly can't do it while in a mindscape."

"fascinating." She thinks for a bit. "Wanna see something? For your book!"

Ryna raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. “I’m listening,” she said, settling back on the bed. “What do you want to show me?”

Her tone was calm, patient, genuinely interested, as if she were ready to record whatever Aspen had in mind in the Codex.

Ryna stood slowly, her expression calm but focused. She followed Aspen to the window, watching the nymph vanish into the twilight forest.

“Alright,” Ryna said quietly, adjusting the Codex in her arms. “Let’s see what’s so important out there.”

She climbed out after her, landing lightly on the forest floor, senses alert. The faint rustle of leaves and the cool evening air wrapped around her as she moved, ready to see whatever Aspen wanted to show her.

"Oh. Right."

"Before you go," Asharak cuts in, "all I know of the person responsible is a title."

You had a person in mind, right?

No I did not.

There is something I could do if you needed, but I was under the impression that you kinda had a plan for where this was going.

"The Father." He nods to Cep. "Farewell. And good luck."

Rebus returned to life as his Author finally got around to writing. He would need to do something - get involved in a new and engaging plotline while he waited for his other plans to come to fruition.
Meanwhile, Meat the Minstrel was ominously playing an organ in a thunderstorm. Not-Bat sighed, slumping agains a nearby tree. “You really have no idea where she is?”

"how .. who? Ok" they tske a deep breath and the wind calms. "Ok first, who is Lesterp?"

“Lezterp is a Materializer, a type of magic users CoderDrag0n came up with that have powers related to a specific thing.” Rebus pronounced the zero, which is not an easy thing to do. “This includes awareness of people thinking about the item, so while you’re reading the name backwards, try to think quietly.”

I on the other hand, actually have a couple things that could use some screen time. Do you have a character or plotline idea you’d want to do?

"No. His name is... He would want you to call him KDJ."

I would recomend reading my new TLT page

Rebus nodded thoughtfully. “I know where he is, but it’s almost impossible to get there on purpose, let alone leave here. As luck would have it, though, I’m also trying to travel between realms - though one of the people you just killed was who I thought could let me do it.”

"The plan is to prevent it from happening ever. If you want to know exactly what, check page 2756. And whatever you do, don't mention it! You might speak it into existence."

"No, I'm sure you could get in and out, and with the paper too, if you tried hard enough! I mean, look at me!"

Bacon produced a wonky trombone from his suitcase and played it rather badly.

Bacon’s other other variant, Meat the Minstrel, ate a candy bar that had been serving as an organ key. Not-Bat sighed again. “You’re not even listening, are you?”
Rebus raised an eyebrow at Bacon. His own tendency towards overcomplicated gambits made it hard to tell if he was being set up, or if Bacon was just being his usual unpredictable self. “Perhaps you’re right. But you haven’t handed over the paper yet, have you?” Rebus grinned, Antagonist’s dark ‘glow’ intensifying. “If I was going to simply use force and not an aforementioned overcomplicated gambit, I should simply attack you and take it. I might even win that, too - we both know most fights are determined by the stubbornness of our Authors, and yours is the one who told me to do this.”

Sorry I’m late I’ve been really busy

Betrayal vanished again and reappeared, further back.

“Then if you know you cannot be trusted, I can only assume that you know you will likely eventually betray them. If you would betray someone to further your own goals, they are no friend. This is why I know I have no friends.”

Mischief growled and spat at him. Betrayal responded with a fireball.

No problem - I haven’t exactly been the most responsive myself.
Rebus realized what he should be doing, the one chink in Betrayal’s armor even he was unaware of. But he couldn’t do it. Maybe at one point, maybe before he had altered his personality, he could have succeeded.
He saw two branches in the projections his Author imagined, fracturing into possibilities and variations of their own. Rebus could offer Betrayal a friend - a real friend, one who knew exactly what it meant to be the literal personification of betrayal and yet was still willing to trust, support, and maybe someday redeem the Horror. In the other, Rebus saw himself continue fighting, refute Betrayal’s accusations with another speech about Symbol, then kill him, either dramatically or anticlimactically.
And Rebus remained, caught between the two decisions, one a show of kindness Rebus knew he himself couldn’t offer, one a path that suddenly seemed insufficient. Rebus looked Betrayal in the eyes - offhandedly shielding Mischief from the blast of fire - and… did nothing. For the first time in a long time, even Rebus couldn’t come up with a plan. “I need to kill you to succeed, don’t I.” The foolishness of expecting Betrayal to provide a truthful answer occurs to him, but Rebus still asked, speaking more softly than his previous defiant tone.

Rebus smiled, a little surprised at the speed this had happened - though of course, his Author had been away for a few days. “Excellent! What are you thinking?”
Not-Bat jumped, still - after all this time - not used to people appearing out of thin air.
Meat, on the other hand, was showered with popcorn for seemingly unrelated reasons. “Opposites,” he declared, then began to play the organ with his feet. His hat promptly fell off and filled with both pennies and pineapple - plenty of cents and nonsense.
Bat, desperate at this point and hoping the probable Narrator was at least more coherent than the half-insane Bacon clone, spoke without too much waver in his voice. “I can’t find Tam anywhere.”

gave meat a very confused look. Then at the pineapples and pennies. And then the organ. Then meat again. After that he gave the most devious grin ever. Like evil anime villain devious grin.

he looked at not-bat "ok who is this Tam?"

Taeidin silently considers this bit of information, deciding that he himself does not know of any who may be called "The Father", but that it may be enough to allow him to identify the person anyway.
