Atreides grinned, taking a moment to take control of the nanite network. "I appreciate that."

The wiki should have some information, too - I might make a “Rebus’s technology” page, actually.
The whole planet was full of nanomachines - and he could control every one of them. Rebus’s teleportation network opened up to him too, showing the full extent of places that had been already conquered.

Rebus smiled again - that had been fun, getting a chance to dramatically monologue about his superiority. This one, on the other hand, did not seem like it would be fun. Wailing was rarely a good sign.

As they neared the castle they approached a hut. A man came bursting out, screaming in pain. He had became this way after stubbing his toe while simultaneously getting a paper cut, the two most painful things ever experienced. He looked at Rebus, screamed, and attacked.

Axzi spoke solemnly.

The Horror of Agony. You must defeat him without causing pain. For every time he feels a new pain, he regains his strength.

The sprite cackled a prepped her salt for his papercut.

He gave her a sorrowful look. "I feel that now. My Author has no true purpose for me. Not yet." he ran a hand through his hair. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I can't be around for you."

"Me too."

Thank you. This is one of the reasons Rebus is so friendly all the time - it makes it all the more frightening as he does something like this.
Rebus smiled - he could do things with Betrayal. “I understand,” he said, referring to both. Rebus took the moving floor calmly, not breaking stride - he had trained for such things, and had it been combat he could have used the movement his advantage. The giggle was interesting - Madness, perhaps.
Rebus might be able to see in the darkness - he’s kind of an out-of-context problem for the trials (which are really fun lore, by the way).

Yeah, but unless the fictional character is going into actual real life, Sandy will be either in a thread, or offscreen. The Thread contains everything written here.

If Alpha Centauri is canon, then Earth is canon, and hence we might be canon.

Rebus, initially surprised by the violent reaction, clarified that he meant the planet being in his possession, not the character.

*sad noises*

Rebus brought physics to a slightly more realistic level, and the antimatter beam blew up in an impressive explosion upon contact with the air. Although even Rebus would be grievously injured by an antimatter explosion, the armor, darkness emitted by the Chaotic Order reaction, and Rebus’s normal nanotechnology were enough to leave him alive. His armor glowed white hot in places as his flesh (if it could be called that) knit back together.
Reconsidering slightly, if it was actually an anti-matter beam, Rebus instead used portals to redirect it at Eon and continue the destruction of the air.

Rebus was unperturbed by that, and unsure what Cep expected to gain.

Rebus appeared, smiling. “Travel between realms? The only way I know about involves directly influencing the Authors to write you somewhere else, though Sandy seems to have another method.”

Rebus smiled slightly. “I really was worried. I’m sorry I did it, though.”
Rebus, liking awesome things, made sure to commit some of the more complete designs to memory.

"Fair enough," she admitted.

Rebus hardened a wall of utility fog in between himself and the man, but the impact refreshed Agony’s strength. This Horror would be far more difficult to surmount - even Rebus’s utility fog sedative caused a little bit of prickling.
The salt fused together into a singular block, stuck in its container. No. Rebus spoke into her mind, the word infused with an equal mix between resignation and unrelentingly patient authority.

Rebus looked around himself, as Keys and potentially the ninjas were presumably still there. “Do we have a destination?” I can come up with something if you’d like.
Rebus was fine with that - this meant he could think of a device and then say that Mr. Whitlock had designed it.

Rebus doesn’t sleep. If it’s some sort of dream magic, he could still pick it up while mentally managing his network.

The Horror of Agony screamed again, and rushed madly towards them. The man in black armor swung at it, sending it crashing to the ground, screaming. The gash faded and it was up in an instant, screaming.

The sprite shrugged and threw the salt at the Horror of Agony, snickering to herself

Upon hearing his voice she grabbed her head and began hissing and spitting, running around erratically.

It speak! She hissed. What want it?

She glared at Rebus, eyes wild.

Curious, curious…

Axzi seemed to be taking interest in the sprite, seeing the erratic behavior and sudden glare

Rebus - one of his clones, at least - had gone into a sort of trance, watching and sorting through data from all over his empire. He stood - eyes open, straight-backed - in parade rest, but it was the closest he ever got to sleep.

Rebus sighed. “Mischief - if you can hear me, please continue interfering; it’s actually rather helpful. As for you, Agony - do you want the pain to stop?”

You sure about this? The clone will be entirely pulled into the dream space and will go completely unconsious.

The sprite cocked her head as the human went back to babbling in nonsense. She shrugged and tried to put a tiny frog down the black-clad man’s armor.

Agony wailed

”pain… pain… endless. Hurt. All hurt. Now… hurt all”

It let loose a guttural scream and charged again

"I don't remember," Symbol replied.

That would be awesome

It depended on the type of technology. But perhaps.

Yeah - Rebus has more clones, after all.

Interesting, Rebus thought to himself. The screaming man attacking him was a more immediate concern, though.
Rebus blocked the charge with another wall of utility fog. It swept him off his feet and lifted him into the air, Rebus trying his best to immobilize the Horror. “I can help, you know. I don’t feel pain.”

Rebus thought for a moment. “We were trying to find people, I think. Get back to the wider world, or find somewhere here we wanted to stay.”
Hmm… Now I need to think of something.
The copy of Bat was still searching for Tam, getting more and more panicked and desperate as she didn’t appear.

The clone falls to floor. Rebus feels... a strong tugging. To somewhere else.

Rebus frowned. “Do we still want that? Whatever it was that happened to you might come back.”
Keys is still there, right?

ok.

Rebus's counciousnes entirely leaves his body. He then wakes up in a strange forest and hears someone muttering.

"what an interesting side effect... good for testing."

Suddenly, a man appears in front of Rebus. The man seems to be Chained down to the floor by mysterious glowing chains.

"Welcome Rebus."

Rebus was nowhere. Rebus did nothing. Rebus tried to- Rebus was nowhere. Rebus scoffed. But that was forgotten. Rebus was nowhere. "This isn't-" Rebus was nowhere. "-really-" Rebus was nowhere. "-your mind." Rebus was nowhere. Information, possibilities of action, spread out before him. And then his Author wrote nothing. "Not true-" Rebus was nowhere. Rebus did everything. Rebus, slowly, did only one thing. It was written. And the memories faded. Lingering echoes, though flickered still. Rebus watched Bat torture Symbol, watched himself beg Fate for help - the only time he had really been without a plan. He brushed them aside, his mind leaping into the phantoms, slamming them with sheer will, unwillingness to break. The memories flared back up, and Rebus was nowhere. And then he really was.

Rebus altered his mind to deal with what it means to be continually trapped in my imagination, unable to do anything permanent. Of course, even then it's a terrible idea to telepathically connect to the embodiment to Misery.

Rebus laughed. She had done exactly what he expected. And so he bridged the gap to her mind, linking the two of them together.

Yeah - you could specify destination if you wanted, but any attempt to interact outside the Thread would have to be outside the thread.

Rebus watched, legitimately interested by Taeidin's powers.

Bacon the Bard has it, it think - it's also in Xino's blog, under Lost Pages.

"I can identify you, actually. The red text is a giveaway." He smiled. "Regardless of that, continue."

This was true. It was quite large now, and should one have made a map it would clearly be pretzel-shaped.

They were indeed very interesting. Perhaps one day Taeidin would explain them. For now though...

Taeidin looks up at Rebus.

"They are all very far away, so I was able to pinpoint a possible location. We would need to teleport, and as you are here, can you do the honors?"
