She walked to the glass door and slid it open. Crickets chirped.

The landscape stayed the same but for a deep echo of a sound off to the right. A lonely, otherworldly howl.

She lay her hand on the door to feel the nature of the protection. She was quite familiar with Nullite, and should be able to feel the difference between Nullite and prior Narration. 

It was none of the above. If anything, it felt much more similar to a Plotblade.
