You're working for an organization that kidnaps, imprisons, and experiments on people" - "B-but sir I thought we weren't experimenting on the girl anymore. It took a moment for the gears of Regulus's mind to process this, decrypting the old man's crude dialogue into a more processable form of language. As the old adventurer crossed a corner far down the road, Regulus gasped. "A princess has been kidnapped! And whoever saves her gets her hand in marriage?" His words sparked another memory of fond parental advice. This time, it was his mother's voice that filled his head. "Regulus Leviticus Venture! If you so much as think of coming home married to some princess you met three days before the wedding, without so much as sending me a letter telling me and your father where that ceremony was to take place, I will hang the both of you out to dry with your little brothers' dirty socks!" "Hm. Maybe I could just go for half the kingdom instead." Mused Regulus. Nevertheless, he set off on the same path as the old man had followed. (For the astute Narrator who is wondering why Regulus's thoughts are once again privy to any with the knack for reading posts, it was because he had not yet remembered this vitally important piece of his father's advice regarding the protection of thoughts: "And remember, the most important thing is that you employ this technique constantly. If you let your mind slip, your thoughts will be as unprotected as anyone else's")

His parents had long drilled into him the ways of adventuring in TLT, and his father's words ran through his mind as he turned to greet the mysterious woman. "Son, always remember the guiding rule of TLT: If someone appears next to you without explanation, then they're most likely a Narrator. So be polite." Back in the present, Regulus broke the somewhat awkward silence that had ensued while he replayed his flashback. "Yes, I am. I'm Regulus, what's your name?" "Why don't you want anyone entering Ragnorok?" Moni twisted to make herself spin so she could see the rest of the tent. He slapped her across the face. "You're a prisoner here. If the Lords of Ragnorok forbid your entry, then it is so." 6 hours ago, Dragonheir said: Rebus nodded. “That all makes sense. I should know all of that already, but you know how Authors are. Maybe I’ll compile a lecture of some sort, something a bit more detailed than Fate’s overview… We’ll want the Diffuse Chaotic Light entity to tap into that ambient energy, though if they parallel the Chaotic Dark equivalents it will have far less raw power than a Narrator.” “Ah, good. My scanning agrees - though we should probably run a few more to figure out exactly what’s below us and how to access it.” Rebus stepped off the vehicle, which collapsed into a floating cart.
