“The leaders. They’ll know where Rose is.” 

The hallway curved into a thin set of stairs doen to the floor of the cavern beyond. There were three levels, with stone pillars holding up each one. Houses were cut into pillars, walls, stacked on top of each other… 

On the bottom level was a huge round building cut with special artistry and coated with a whole bunch of Nullite.

Bat beamed. “Isn’t it nice? We’re proud of it. Especially the lights.” 

The caverns were lit by some kind of glowing gold rock. Some of them were blue, especially on the higher, more crowded levels. 

Bat started down the stairs, clinging a little too tightly to the handrail.

"Fire crystal. I know, not a super original name. It's got some kind of scientific name, but I don't know it. It burns really slowly from the inside out, as long as there are some holes in the top. We mine for it regularly, but it doesn't take too much effort." He smiled. "It's one of the things I miss most. The lighting. The sun's kind of... harsh. It's not something you can really think about, you know? These things, they have a story. Somebody chipped it out of the rock in that shape, set it alight, put it in the holder. You know? Sometimes you'll find one with a really cool shape, or words in it. The sun is just... the sun."

It was… taller than he’d thought. And terribly imposing.

She also made her appearance change so that she looked like a different person. A little shorter, with dark brown hair and light brown eyes, and also different clothing.

"Just in case," she grinned sheepishly.

And frowned. He smacked it against the back of his hand and clicked the button again. 

Then they appeared in an empty chamber, round, with Nullite veins in the wall. Bat grinned, glad he hadn’t broken it.
