"That's quite the track record you've got there."

Rebus tosses the nanomachine at the wall. It sticks there, ready to slowly grow and darken this portion of it. Rebus himself goes through the rift, setting up some lights behind him that would mimic the rest of the wall. Hopefully that would stop the withergiests from doing something that would end unpleasantly for the both of them. Okay, I’m going to open up an opportunity if you want to place your character here. The Constant - that is what he was called before becoming a king - walked on an empty path. His people had betrayed him, and he didn’t even have the will to stop them. He could have, at any time. But what if they were right? He felt a tear escape him only to quickly evaporate in the air. And so, the Constant returned to a place none would recognize him. A place that had hardly even heard of his kingdom. A tavern, one that he had often visited long before he even discovered his powers. So many years ago. He was tired.

NerdyAarakocra They/Them Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 A loud crack filled the air, and the smoke vanished. In its space was a human, scorched unrecognizably. Parts of the body were dissolving, bleeding away into nothing. It was Tocf.
TwinStorm He/Him Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 1 hour ago, Halcyon The Only said: Bat relaxed. Without the constant knowledge that Rose was on his back, he felt much more at ease. And with the compass, he could go anywhere he wanted. He was free now…. as long as he stayed with Gaioh. But he liked Tam. And Cricket. It was nice having a little unit he could trust and take care of. He really liked it. A ninja fell through the ceiling. 1 hour ago, Through The Living Glass said: Tam followed. This place looked . . . cozy. Yeah, that seemed like the right word. Tam fell into step beside him. "Hey . . . sorry about what happened back there," she apologized. "I know that kind of stuff makes you uncomfortable . . ." Cricket knocked once and the front door and it was opened immediately. They were led into a massive room, with tables all around and a bar at one end. A couple feet from them was an olive skinned woman with a long tangled braid, serving drinks and chatting with customers, upon seeing them, she walked over. "Cricket?" she asked, astonished. "It's been five years! How are you doing?" before he could answer, she hugged him tightly. "Tempest." he said, uncomfortable. "Listen, about last time...." "Forget last time." she interrupted. "Mother Entreri is in the back. She's sick, but she can see you. What happened to your eye? Never mind, I forgot who I was talking to." she laughed. "So, who are these people?" 28 minutes ago, Halcyon The Only said: He blushed again, but couldn't help a smile. "I guess it is funny. I don't know what it is, but every time something near me broke, I'd been upset or something. So these other kids were talking to me like normal and I got upset, and all of a sudden the the little mechanism that raises and lowers the dam starts clicking, and then I guess it gave out. And so the dam fell all the way back into the riverbed. And that's how I flooded my hometown." "Yes, it can. Whatever I want, indeed." Cricket laughed. "Bat, you're a marvel."

Or a scholar would determine a way to close the rift. For now, Rebus sets up automatic laser weapons that could be activated at a moment’s notice. Then he builds more world around the small platform. He makes trees, buildings, people, inexplicable phenomena created by his technology. And through it all, he is mind-numbing bored.
