Uh . . . thank you? He chuckled. You too, I think.

He put his arm around her.

This is nice.

Yeah. This is nice.

She found his other hand.

Livetha was very, very satisfied with her matchmaking skills.

Kion laughs. "Well, it's better than trusting that guy. Did you see his outfit?" Rebus had been wearing a very futuristic looking outfit, sleek black and light grey with neon orange highlights. Although not awful, it was like something out of Tron, or perhaps a clothing equivalent of the Aperture portal gun. To a mid-second-industrial-revolution dweller, it looked ridiculous.

Rebus, for his part, decides he can help the Render along after all. Certainly not motivated by the insult, he has a new train come through and collide with the Render as the conductor cannot stop it fast enough. Stretching to maintain its grip on the metal it'd gathered, it pulls back together and casually rips off a section of the front car wall, balling it up into a torso section as it steps inside. "Your tracks are damaged ahead. I would like you to turn around and head to a different station. May I have a map?" It fully knows the emotional effect of an angel made from twisted, razor sharp pieces of metal tearing its way into your room, and plans to milk it to the greatest possible extent.

I should get off the shard now. Good night, if the time zones are as such.

Faunus’ mouth curled up in a smirk, until she bubbled over laughing. “It really was ridiculous, personally, I like the Middle Ages fantasy aesthetic better.” She beamed a smile Kion, a good laugh always made everything better.

good night!

Shoe was content to just rest there for a bit.

Do you know where your siblings are? he asked after a while.

Cricket nodded distractedly.

Tam reappeared, face red from laughing.

"What's wrong?"

She shook her head. “It’s been years. Last I knew, they were all still living with my father.”

I… if he did, I… no. No, he…

…might have.

"Oh, it's nothing. Listen, from what I'm hearing, your dad seems horrible, and we should probably go get your siblings."

We should. He reluctantly stood up, brushing the sand off his clothing. He offered Beosta a hand.

Cricket sighed, getting up. What happened now? He had failed with the Dreamsmith and he had no way of going forward. Tam, I... he breathed in. I think I'm going to stay with everybody for a while. We can handle the hunters, and I need time to reevaluate my strategy to finding the hunters' master.

She nodded. Alright.

I'm- I'm sorry, by the way. If I hadn't said anything back in Omen's cave . . . She sighed.

Sorry.

I'm the one who suggested a link, and I asked you first. It's my fault, completely. I should've just figured it out on my own.

No, I should have- she stopping, sighing.

It's too late now, anyway. We'll find another way.

“They should be back with my father,” she said. “In my world… so we should start there. Ask him, maybe.”

She didn’t want to do that. She didn’t want to see him ever again. But there wasn’t another choice, was there?

Mist enveloped him, and everything went black.

Cricket stood in front of Omen, next to Tam. "Now leave this place, and do not return until you are ready."

This blade crumbled into dust moments after contact, and Moni stepped back out of range. She glanced down at the dagger in her hand. Nameless could make this thing change forms... This would be a lot easier with a sword.

Atreides smiled, and teleporting them both into the storm above. The winds whipped them, but Atreides just laughed, hovering there. "Do you know my titles, Avatar? Emperor of the Universe, Lord of Blades, but also... King of the Winds." he said, watching as wind spirits swirled around them, several being absorbed by his blade, which pulsed with energy. "This is my domain, Avatar. Fight me."

"Let's make this fast. Your dad doesn't exactly seem like the nicest guy around."

Are you sure you want to go back? Last he saw of us . . . we were basically taking his wife from him again . . .

In any case, Shoe did not want to go back there.

And they weren't there before.

"Hey, relax. You don't even need to talk to your dad, if you don't want. We can do that. And we'll make sure he doesn't do whatever he did before." Cricket had only caught hints, but what happened earlier had seemed disturbing.

He looked to his sister.

Tam, will you stay with Beosta?

"Ah," said Bacon. "Perhaps you wish you were more a character and less a Narrator?"

“That might be part of it,” Subversion replied slowly. “but even if I was just a character, I still wouldn’t be real. I suppose I could give up my powers and erase my knowledge of the nature of existence, but that option is… not very appealing. I don’t want to live a lie.”

Selppaenip jumped. "And who might you be?"

"I shall ask at once," said Selppaenip, relieved.

He knocked on the door, hoping to communicate his request to the wardens.

"Hardly nothing!" declared Selppaenip. "You have recruited me to the cause, after all!"

“Selppaenip, that request must be made at the trial.” The Great Wizard looked slightly less tired as he hung from his chains. “Thank you for your kind words.”
