Was I thinking about something?

She shrugged. “I was just wondering if you were.”

Sasha’s eyes widened, then filled with tears. She… she could feel things again. And smell things, and the colors were so much more vivid than she remembered, and HOLY CHASMS was she STARVING.
She stared down at her hands, then threw her arms around Lady Bug, barely holding back her tears. “Thank you,” she whispered. “Oh, chasms and stars, thank you.”

Lady Bug, confused, hugged her back. “You’re welcome.”

Beosta figured that one of the narrators would do something about those screams.

Hacob thought that was a particularly silly thing to think. Narrators were remarkably irresponsible, besides Tam and Lady Bug apparently

“Could you do the same for Lettuce? Since he’s a ghost bunny?”

“I suppose. But perhaps he likes to be a ghost.”

I don't think so. Hah, think.

He looked at her expectantly. Were you?

Tam popped in from nowhere. "Maybe the rest of us should be more responsible."

And then she was gone.

Unintelligible smiled, then took Sequences hands and started to dance. (technically it could be termed as dancing at least) He managed to avoid stepping on Sequence's feet in the first five seconds, but he managed to step, trip, and stumble on just about every other possible obstacle on the completely flat floor.

Despite claiming not to know how to dance, Sequence didn't do too bad. She tried to help keep Unintelligible stable, laughing a bit when he stumbled.

"Hey 'two left feet' might be a little harsh! You haven't knocked us both over yet! You should see Everyone dance." She laughed again. "It's bad."

The Render grumbles. “No, I don’t think so. The mage is an itch in the back of my mind. I’m sorry.”

How can this be resolved?

The voice asked. Something about the tone and cadence was extremely off-putting.

She gave him a coy smile. “Maybe.”

He seemed confused. Why would I need to come back? I already drank plenty of alcohol.

Well then, perfect. I have to go with Cricket; yell for me if anything interesting happens!

Tam trotted behind him, looking around at the scenery.

Cricket stopped in front of Tam as they rounded a bend. He stared in shock. The castle had been destroyed. Above the charred ruins, a cloud of smoke lay, and all the grass within a hundred yards was withered. Corpses lay scattered around.

Cricket fell to his knees, staring in shock. "Not... again." he whispered, tears rolling down his face.

Several yards ahead, massive words were carved into the stone. They read. YOU THOUGHT THE WAR WAS OVER, CHAISLER? IT IS ONLY BEGUN. SANGENT'S CAPTURE WAS A TEMPORARY INCONVENIENCE. RETURN, OR YOUR FRIENDS WILL PAY THE PRICE.

"Oh, I didn't find Filler. The quest would've taken way too long. But you can have Love Triangles if you want, I've been looking for a way to get it off my hands." Unintelligible tossed Platypus the locked chest, along with a key, then walked off with Sequence to start their dance. "Oh, and one more thing. Be careful when you open it. The Plotblade has a ten-" The rest of Unintelligible's sentence was cut off by a crash caused by a group of Ghanderflaffles who'd been having a silverware stacking competition.

@TwinStorm did you see my reply?

"The gods are scared of Plotblades and will view me as a threat, so if I have one, they banish me. Simple?"

Tam huffed. I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had to fit into the Narrator norm to be chaotic.

"All I'm saying is that I'm being normal. Well, as normal as I can be. There's more than one way to be chaotic, but my way is the best."

“I was wondering if I ever look like Faothea when she sees my brother.”

Hacob laughed. The new Narrators always took everything too seriously. Eh. They'll figure more out about me later. Once that dang trial happens and the Plotblades get revealed. Speaking of which...

Hacob teleported away. The Brave Adventurer, wherever he was, heard a knock, followed by Hacob's voice. "Can I come in?"

Aw . . . he said sadly.

He suddenly put his hand on the back of her head and gently pressed his lips to hers.

There. Now I win. He pulled away, satisfied that he had won whatever game they had been playing just now.

She turned redder than a desert sun, looking away to try and hide the huge, stupid grin on her face. “Yes. You win.”
