Then the darkness was broken as, with a crackling sound, the TV turned on. “State your business please.” Perseus was at the wrong angle to see what was on the screen, but the voice coming from the TV sounded stern, and carried with it a ringing echo that was faintly metallic. Of course he knows I’m a Narrator. He just doesn’t know what that means. "A mysterious voice told me to come to you. I just want to ask you a few questions." The book snapped shut on the pen. "That's an excellent purpose, I must say. It matches your taste in dance partners." "As is yours," said Bacon, smiling. "Speaking of fulfillment, have you thought of a purpose yet?" 1 hour ago, Sequence said: Sequence stared at Nogard incredulously. "... My namesake. My... uh... "Only about... 30... years old? Yeah. Yeah, 30." "Thirty, huh?" said Nogard, still slightly dazed. "You look pretty young for thirty." He blinked and flushed. "Er... I don't mean..." 1 hour ago, Sequence said: Sequence laughed a bit more. "I'm only joking. Though I'm sure you could be menacing if you wanted to be!" Selppaenip chuckled. Sunlight filtered through the trees and birdsong filled the air, giving the place a whimsical air. Moni murmured something softly and put her pillow over her head. No breaking him! @Through The Living Glass "I hope not!" said Nogard with a laugh. "They haven't tried to execute me yet, at least. Hopefully the trial proves the innocence of the Great Wizard, and we can all work together instead of fighting each other." He paused. "I... wouldn't mind if you came by, though." 12 minutes ago, Through the Living Feather said: Beosta left Livetha playing on a chandelier somewhere and moved outside, down beneath the deck among the fresh plants in the moist shade. She fluffed out her cloak, then settled to face the bay. That man had been... scary. Incredibly scary. She still remembered what he'd said. The monks screamed as they died. I killed the old one, you know, Navis? He begged me to spare the children. Just thinking it made her want to rip into his throat. The idea was accompanied by a wave of nausea, which she closed her eyes against. She wasn't a little kid anymore, she reminded herself. That man wasn't just a faceless bad guy. He wasn't just an entity in a game. There was a person behind him. She shouldn't want him dead. She shouldn't... But he'd been so vile. No. No! Stop thinking that way. Do you want it to happen again? She pushed images out of her mind. She wouldn't do that again. She wouldn't. Never. But that's why you wanted the crossblade, she thought. Not so you wouldn't kill, but so you wouldn't have to... to actually do it. Up close, at least. So you wouldn't have to feel that weight in your hand and see the glint of the blade right in front of your face. So you wouldn't have to see those eyes snap open, then glaze over. So you could pretend you're not a coward, her father's voice whispered. Beosta stood to pace. It wasn't cowardly. Not wanting to kill wasn't cowardly. It was merely merciful. Hopeful, even. Had there been any hope for that man? She pushed him out of her mind. She'd been avoiding him, to an extent. How did one apologize for murder? To the victim? She'd brought him back, yes, but that wasn't enough. In the wake of... of what she'd done, he'd lost everything. And he didn't even know it yet. His father was dead, his estate abandoned, Faothea happily married. Maybe he would have been better off unresuscitated. She scuffed the mud with her shoe. I brought him back selfishly, she realized. I brought him back so I could feel like a good person again. She wasn't a good person. She didn't deserve any of these people. Not Bacon, not Cricket... not even Bat. And especially not Shoe. So what could she do? What I've always done. She sighed, then looked up at the sky. Stick around and hope there's something I can do for them along the way. nobody has to respond to this if they don't want to, but I was bored and uh it happened so Hey Shoe, transmitted Bacon. You should ask Beosta to dance. @Through The Living Glass 10 minutes ago, TwinStorm said: "A mysterious voice told me to come to you. I just want to ask you a few questions." Through the Living Shadow he/him Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 2 hours ago, Sequence said: Sequence paused, thinking for a moment. "About me? Well, uh..." She thought for a moment. "I built this planet we stand on, for one. I believe I am the oldest Narrator still alive and on the Thread. Whether that makes me wise or not, I can't be sure." She laughed a bit. "I'm... peaceful, I hope. That's partially the reason for this occasion." She gestured to the people all around at the party. "Some of the people I have invited are at odds, currently. I invited them all here for an occasion of peace." Sequence smiled. "Thank you. So, what've you been up to lately? Can I interest you in some tea?" She offered a cup to the Bookwyrm. It smelled of pine and juniper. The party has begun! Invitations with magical stamps allowing teleportation to Sequence's World have appeared near everybody on the thread, and a large amount of people are there now. Elsewhere on the thread, invitations appeared to the General, the Brave Adventurer, the Great Wizard, Onyx, and the Dreamsmith, to name a few. @NameIess @xinoehp512 Sequence frowned. "... I see. Well, you are free to leave anytime you wish by tearing up your invitation, but I highly recommend you stay, at least for a bit! I'd love to learn more about you, and we can all celebrate our Thread's 3,000th page together." "Welcome!" Sequence said warmly, offering her hand in greeting. "So glad you could attend! Who might you be?" "Nice to meet you, Shoe. Lovely name, might I add." She smiled warmly. "Tell me a bit about yourself! Your adventures, your feats! ... Your name is awfully familiar as well. I don't think I've met you though." She looked thoughtful for a moment. 2 hours ago, xinoehp512 said: "Doesn't seem like she's showed up yet." "It would be my pleasure," said Bacon, leading her onto the dance floor. "Yes, I'm okay- although I have been captured by the Brave Adventurers. I'm going to testify at the Great Wizard's trial, it would seem. How about you? Were you able to get away from the battle?" "An honor to make your acquaintance, madam," said Selppaenip, bowing in return. "Is there any way I can be of service? Ruffians attempting to disturb the peace, perhaps?" "The 3000th what?" Nogard's eyes were well and truly glazed over at this. Bacon waved. "It's no trouble at all. I do it all the time." "so you have come to be united" whispered the ground. "to join us" Uh, Tenth can go to the party if he wants. "You broke my kazoo!" “Pyk. I assume you are Sequence?” He was in a power suit, but it quickly shrunk down and entered a katana at his side. The katana was made of Mordite, but was sheathed. The sheath contained enough Nullite in it to be immune to Narration. He took the hand, shaking it. Tenth does not wish to go to the party, only to master his power. He didn’t want it acting out again.
