Bacon snapped his fingers and the consultant reappeared.

He took a look at Shoe. "I take it your nullite problem has not resolved itself, then?"

“It hasn’t,” Beosta answered for him. “It’s gotten worse. He’s been coughing. What do we need to do?”

the first Brave Adventurer

"It was not important to your training. To be normal is to put aside all claims to greatness." ... said sagely.

"Hardly." The Brave Adventurer had recovered himself, although he still kept a firm grip on his pocket watch. "My predecessor... um, what is your name, actually? I only ever knew you by the title. No matter. My predecessor was very close to the Great Wizard. Until the trial is sorted out, we have to protect ourselves from the possibility that they have been working together from the beginning."

Selppaenip laughed. "That seems unlikely! I don't even know if he would have joined if I did not!"

Nogard sighed. Then he noticed Gail.

"Gail!" he called. "Are you alright?" @The Halcyon Girl

"Me?" ... looked confused. "Have I met you before?"

"I would like to know as well." The Brave Adventurer frowned at Hacob. "You implied that there was some secret to my predecessor's identity. Who exactly is he?"

It wasn't.

"Sure." Subversion snapped her fingers, and they appeared next to the Bacon the Bard that was currently with Beosta and that group. "Hey! How's the quest been going?"

@xinoehp512

"Pretty good! We just finished defeating a group of withergeists. Well, they did. Onyx didn't let me participate. But Beosta finished her final project, which is great!"

He shook his head

"Hmm. Well, that depends on how much of an affinity your body has for the substance. It's possible that it has simply resisted being filtered out of the bloodstream, in which case a properly-tuned dialyzer would do the trick. It's also possible that it has adhered to your soul more deeply, which would require more... specialized care."

“I’m okay.” Gail was clutching TP tightly with one hand, the other holding Qodi against her chest. “I’m fine. I’m okay.” She gulped down a breath of air.

“Specialized care??”

"I'm sure she'll be fine. She's embroiled in a pretty major plot arc right now. Plenty of opportunity for character development there."

"Indeed. Tutelage from an Ennuller regarding how to control the flow of ordered-dark energy."

But maybe it was similar to oceanwater?

"I don't think you have. But unless I'm mistaken as to your identity, which I don't think I am, I don't need to. Most people know who you are, at least, most well informed people do. As for you," he said as he turned to the Brave Adventurer. "That's not my secret to share. You might even already know it. You can ask him."

"Nope! If it's happened, they've kept it pretty secret. But wait, we didn't have any people in the prophecy with us, did we?"

Ennu- I don't want to become an Ennuller! He pushed her away gently.

That would be wonderful, actually! He sounded slightly panicked.

I don't want to have them in the first place! Plus, we don't actually know if I even have them yet! he pointed out, eyes wide.

“I hope you do,” she informed him. “I don’t want you to stay sick. Hey. Calm down. I promise you’ll be okay. I’ll make sure you’re okay.”

He sighed. I don't want to stay sick, either. But I also don't want to become something I'm not. I just . . . I don't want to change at all. Hopefully this all ends up being nothing to worry about.

And thanks. I appreciate it.

She didn’t know what else to say, so she hugged him again. “You’ll be okay,” she whispered.

On a slightly different note, are you doing okay? You've been acting strange all day.
