No. The charcoal black is just the color when they intercept. (I chose two colors opposite on the wheel.)

Shoe didn't know what was going on with Beosta. All day she'd been acting weird around him. First she'd freaked out about him not fighting even though he was more capable than she was, then she'd cried on his shoulder when she couldn't help the villagers, and now she was hugging him without reason?

Cricket sighed, looking at Bacon. "I thought you said they were coming!" he said exasperatedly. "I want to be on the other side of the multiverse when the Enullers come back and they're coming with me!"

The mass held off the chains, pushing back and slicing at them. They attacked the walls of the room at the same time, attempting to destabilize the mindscape. Tenth placed a hand to his head…

Cricket ran over to Shoe and Beosta. "We did it, right? No deaths? Nobody was hurt? And Shoe, you're back! Did you rescue him?" he asked Beosta. "Alright, listen. I know we won and that's great! And... Beosta, you did it! But we need to leave soon. We can catch up, but by tomorrow we need to be gone. I promised some Enullers that I'd come with them in twenty-four hours and I don't want to ever see them again."

The chains resisted slicing, patiently coiling around the tentacles until they had wrapped it completely. The doctor's eyes were narrowed in concentration.

The field keeping the power of the mass restrained within Tenth held firm.

Hacob walked up. "Sorry, that's my bad. Stupid rabbits wanted to eat me and I figured if the Brave Adventurers had taken over one of my bases, I would still be allowed to use the defense system." He snapped, and the lava stopped flowing and the ground stopped shaking. Blood dripped out of a Narrationblade-shaped hole in his back, but he didn't seem to notice.

Tenth gasped actually how would this work with Silence?, and his eyes started to cloud black. Slowly. A dark golden spike exited his body, speeding towards the doctor at unnatural speeds.

Not that power…

the actual tangible power… not from his mind.

Like, people who can actively use the power manipulate golden strands to slice or move things, and that does stuff. He, if the Nullite weren’t present, would always be able to do that. But the Nullite throws everything off. It can be used by him, but he can’t control it or control when he uses it. It only comes out as a last ditch effort.

No reason why.

Tenth looked around.  What is happening?

The Strands erupted from Tenth, a few reaching for the doctor… faster than seemed possible for anything to move. The most, however, went backwards, attempting to break the globe of protection and the chains keeping the mental Strands in.
