I lived a relatively quiet life before I was inspired to take up the mantle of Brave Adventurer." He smiled apologetically. "I'm just as confused as you are."

"...I see." The Brave Adventurer looked unconvinced.

I'm scaring you? He grabbed her wrists. Beosta, I'm scudding scaring myself- I have been for years! I'm freaking out, and I don't know what to do! Everything always feels like it's spiraling out of control! The people I should be protecting keep getting hurt, or kidnapped, or killed. Now I'm suddenly supposed to become the one thing I've learned to hate and fear these past ten years -the cause of all of that suffering- and everyone just expects me to be okay with it?!

He stared into her eyes. I'm not just scared; I'm downright terrified!
