Ciara floated over it again and caused the lights to go out, plunging them temporarily into darkness.

While it was dark, she flew towards Quagmire and slammed him into the wall, trying to push him through the stone.

He smiles for a second, and once again becomes incorporeal. He phases through her, and becomes corporeal once again, this time, however, he closes his eyes and stands with his katana at the ready, and appears to focus really hard.

Ciara cried out again. She was gearing up to attack when suddenly, out of nowhere, Sentry was behind her. He grabbed he around the waist and pulled her back. After the initial surprise, however, she whispered something and threw him off aggressively. He hit the wall and slumped to the ground, not moving.

That cost her precious seconds. Pretty good opening . . . *hint hint nudge nudge*

As soon as Sentry distracted her, Quagmire begins to dash towards her, throwing multiple nothingness shards at her. He faints with the blade, and goes for an uppercut into the gut, throwing her against the same wall she just threw Sentry. He dashes at her again, this time going in for the finishing blow...

if ye wish to respond or anything, I'm giving this pause before the blow to you.

Ciara whirled around and tried to dodge, but because of Sentry, she was just too slow. She deflects the shards out of the way, but she was unable to avoid being slammed into the wall and being spear by the sword. She gasped softly.

I mean, this isn't going to kill her, but she is momentarily stuck now.

ah, but you see, piercing wound from this specific blade cause an entropic reaction in her cells, starting with the cells surrounding the wound, kinda like a cancer^3

"Tell me your name, young one. Tell me your TRUE name, so that I may carry the weight of your death with me always."

He twists the blade, and a darkness starts to cover the wound, slowly spreading from the stab throughout her body. 

"This blade was forged and awakened by the great dragon [the name was forgotten as soon as it was heard] of the 10th heightening, and its abilities aren't so easily stopped by our powers."

son of a frickin gun. Why did I make Hacob send me here. I should've asked what was happening first.

Zanitar was flying above the horde, watching. Somehow he needed to show Onyx that he didn't think the same way, while also avoiding the destroyer.

Beosta’s stomach twisted at the sight and she looked away from the dying Ennuller. She reached up absently before realizing she was a bird. 

Nauseated, she lifted and tilted her wings, trying to distract herself, but someone was dying. She couldn’t ignore that. She couldn’t. 

Sometimes we have to do bad things, rang that awful voice in the back of her head, soft but firm as ever. For the ones who truly matter. 

I’m not listening, she screamed back. Shut up! Her hands couldn’t find her hair, and a memory bubbled to her mind— looking into dark glass and seeing her own face, hair twisted up in a knot, her dress covered in—

Beosta flew away.

The Ennuller the group met reported that Ciara died in that invasion. The backstory that was intended to support was that Ciara faked her death so that she could go do her own thing.

But that doesn't have to be true if you don't want it to be.
