The inspector was counting the corpses. More and more rose from the ground every second, grabbing their ankles with dry, grasping fingers.

Tull, Ista, and Erif began to be dragged beneath the ground.

"Then do not fight." The blue barrier wavered again and Falvan scowled at it. Then, in addition to the heat of the inside of the blue light dome, all inside began to feel drained. As if...if...there strength was leaving them -no- as if their power was leaving them.

Ok, so I just scoured all over to try and find where Desolation was defeated. You reference his defeat a couple of times so I know he was. But it was over a year ago at this point, so I don't remember how he was defeated. I thought that it was something about reversing the connection of the sword. That would be making whoever has it had been in Desolations control, (Falvan had to fight his friends), and mentally imprisoned, to Desolation being imprisoned by his own weapon. If that is wrong, that's totally alright. You just might know better than I would what happened to your character. We should both know what happened or what we will use going forward before we continue with it.

The Once-Author doubled over in agony, his body pulsing in and out of reality. His authorblade fell from his hand, his face contorting in pain.

You will fall. Forever. A pain that will never end. PAIN.

"Stop..." The Once-Author plead to Falvan.

Without his powers he couldn't stop Ryss from hurting him. Killing him. His breath was ragged, his windpipe closing up. "Stop..." Tears leak out of his eyes, his hands clawing the sand, head down.

Nogard doesn't have any supernatural powers.

In the blink of an eye, with inhuman speed, Falvan ran towards the barrier.

A blur, he swung at the barrier and broke it. Then he reached out and touched the Once-Author.

They disappeared. The barrier was gone.

...

Falvan stood over the Once-Author, who still had the same effects weighing on him here as he did before. They were on the fringes of TLT. A place that some claimed where one could catch a glimpse of things to come. Where one could even catch a glimpse of the power of narration. Of Authorhood.

"I would tell you that I pity you. But honestly, that emotion is too far away from me now. All I can tell you is that in the end, you deserve your end."

Falvan knelt down besides the Once-Author. He watched him, knowing how painful this experience was to him. He smiled.

@xinoehp512

I don't think Falvan actually knows that either way.

The Once-Author sat in a fetal position, sobbing, face contorted in pain. I deserve this? I... I deserve this...

Yes. Yes you do. Ryss whispered.

The pain ripped into the Once-Author's body.

But then he remembered.

Remembered his time here. A mortal. A hard life.

But it was something.

He reached out and grabbed his blade.

"I will not die without a fight." He said, his muscles sore, his face covered in sweat."You will not have me that easily."

Lots of cosmere spoilers

Spoiler
Quote

"as it is known to repel shades."

Quote

"On Lumar, silver renders aether spores and materials inert."

"Silver is Allomantically inert"

Quote

"On Roshar, silver could potentially be used to permanently kill spren"

With this knowledge, I believe we can assume that silver can disrupt and/or destroy investiture, specifically investiture that is tied to the cognitive realm.

I could have decided that it pierced the wall of annihilation Quagmire created

Quagmire narrows his eyes, and as the debris got close to him, it seemed to just disappear. A stomp this time, and spears of nothingness shoot at Ciara.

Ista was thrown back, but stayed aware due to the fear of the people around her, as well as any emotion coming from the destroyer. “Hey! That hurt!”

She formed a shell around her platform. Wouldn’t want any more explosions.

Hmm. It seems you have been derailed. Tell me, where was your destination?

"Why are you doing this?" asked Nogard. "None of us want to fight you."

[Oh yeah,] said Bacon. [It's fleeing time.]

He flapped after Tam, keeping a sharp eye out for any surprises. This operation had gone smoothly so far. If he knew anything about basic narrative structure, he knew that was a bad sign.

"Well, if they wipe each other out, it might be good to rewind and give them a second chance. See if a different approach might work. It'd be sad to let all that storytelling potential go to waste, after all!"

“Gloreant. It’s a large town in the northwestern Gloreant Mountains. I was going there to check on my youngest brother, who makes track segments for the rail lines.” The man shakes his head, “I’m sad to say I have no idea where I am.” is the person speaking to him there in person?

The destroyer calmly hurled explosion after explosion at the shield.

Erif struggled ineffectually against the grasping hands.

You hit a sore spot with Onyx :P But he's not so mad he really wants you dead.

The destroyer does somewhat have a mind of his own.

The inspector blinked.

"Oh dear," he said. "What are you doing, destroyer?"

The void-eyed man did not speak, but his servants did. "gathering power," they whispered. "all will be one. their power, their flesh joined to ours..."

Uh, sort of.

Is that location within The Longest Thread or outside?

True.

Ciara dodged, growled at him, and shoved him through the wall and out into the void beyond the fortress.

As Ciara attempts to shove him, he causes the part of his body she touched to become incorporeal, and she passes through without moving him. He draws one of his katana's in a quick draw fashion, slicing her as he passes.

"Why are you helping them?!"

She passed her hand through his shoulder and he became corporeal again.

"What reasons would you possibly have?"

Bacon watched the two Ennullers fight.

If only Quagmire could lure Ciara outside of her fortress, he mused. Then I could help. Oh well. It was fun to watch regardless!

He kicks her in the stomach, and, by creating a nothingness vortex behind her, launches her near the entrance of the cave.

"Please," said the inspector, alarm creeping into his voice. "If you continue as you are, you may attract the attention of the destroyer."

Zanitar looked skyward. We're gonna die. We're gonna die. We're gonna die.

Oh dear

Everything stopped. The trees, the guide, the inspector, all as if frozen in time.

"You are a fool who thinks they are wise," said the inspector, neutrally. "You. Know. Nothing."

That was the wrong thing to say.

A hand burst from the dirt. Then another, then another- until hundreds of pale-skinned, empty-eyed corpses began to pull themselves out of the ground.

In the distance, a man approached. In his right hand, he carried a sword of silver and blue and black.

The destroyer.

Nogard wavered slightly. "What... what are you doing?"

son of a frickin gun. Why did I make Hacob send me here. I should've asked what was happening first.

Ista shrugged. “I’m guessing he is Onyx, then.”

I’m guessing he isn’t, then

She blasted every corpse near her with frost, freezing them all. “I don’t think I’m wise. I just think I need Onyx. Nothing more than that.”

Ista cocked her head, then dropped the temperature of the air around the farthest corpses to the point that the oxygen isolated itself, and exploded. “Can we be civil? Or are you just gonna kill me, perhaps hurt me to the point that I go insane?”

eh

Zanitar was flying above the horde, watching. Somehow he needed to show Onyx that he didn't think the same way, while also avoiding the destroyer.

FYI, TLT isn't actually in the cosmere (kind of). Sometimes we are, sometimes we aren't, but there are a lot of rules here that don't apply there and vice versa. Like, Thaidakar was Adonalsium for a little while.
