A normal pigeon joined the group. [But can you imagine the ruler of the withergeists hiding behind a waterfall? It would be hilarious!]

The walls seemed to stretch, almost imperceptible at first, but becoming more noticeable the further they walked into the cave. After a moment, light ever-so-slowly drifted in from above. They were in a room made entirely of stone, with no furnishings save a cast-iron chandelier with burning candles. Well, here we are, Shoe announced. Let's not talk anymore, just to be safe.

Beyond the door was a long, stone hallway. As Bacon walked further in, the space was illuminated by some unseen source of light. There were many doorways further on, though he couldn't see into any of them.

A loud crash suddenly sounded from the right hallway. Shoe jumped and skittered after Bacon.

The crash came from the hallway Bacon didn't go down, just to clarify.

Bacon wondered what the crash was. Hopefully Yrank and Cricket would explore that direction.

He walked over to the nearest doorway and peered inside.

Erif tried the door, but it wouldn't move- the vines had locked it shut.

"Catfish," he muttered. "Inspector? Are you here?"

The only response was a whistling sound, as of the wind. But there was no wind.
