Shoe flew through the portal and into blinding sunlight.

His eyes adjusted after a moment. Several tall mountains came into focus. They were covered in trees with yellow leaves, and the air was crisp and cold. Seemed like it was fall. Oh . . .

He hovered in place and waited for the others, staring at the mountain range.

Castom, who was transformed into a red bird with yellow features, was fluttering around with seemingly endless energy. Yrank, who was now an old, refined looking, yet somewhat frail bird, looked on with joy, seeing her well again.

Cricket gasped, disorientated by the view. He had been expecting a dark spooky cavern, not... paradise. It reminded him of Welderan, before it had been annihilated.

Let's see . . . he thought, looking around. Then he flew back down to the others. This way. He went off left of where they had come from.
