“Too looouuudd…” Fuzzy whined. “But otherwise very quick and on demand.” She did a little thumbs-up, then went back to cowering on the ground.

Bacon noted that down. "Any suggestions on how to improve the summoning experience? Any additions, removals?"

She probably didn’t think she needed to. It probably shocked her when she couldn’t. Beosta felt a sting of guilt for some reason, and she scratched her little stoat’s head.

also what age range are you thinking

early to mid twenties-ish.

Also did Beosta tell Shoe that Livetha's not a narrator anymore? I don't think she did but I might be tripping

“Can you recommend anyone?”

Sequence would know. Subversion also, possibly. Platypus... perhaps.

She did. She said Livetha was normal again

“I know Sequence.” And with that, the three of them (Ista was with them) teleported to Sequence.

@Sequence

Erif went slightly cross-eyed, but he was no stranger to teleporting so it was fine.

Poor thing, Shoe wrote.

Beosta nodded and sat down on the bench.

Being at the mercy of strangers sucked.

Mayhaps the adventure begins soon? *spins in circles*

ehehe prolly won't be much of one... I'm making this up as I go 😜

The man from before returned. He eyed them warily. "Not a word," he reminded them, then opened the bars.

It's all good 😄

Shoe stood and walked out of the cell.

The man led them out to the street, where bystanders stared and quickly vanished.

"Our city is going through difficult times," he said. "It has been difficult to produce enough food for the city recently, with Famine hanging around." He didn't expect a reply. He was merely making small talk.

Shoe wondered why the man used Famine as a proper noun.

As well he should :P

The man brought them out of town to a large plot of land split up into many farms. He hesitated, glanced at the two, and said, "Please make the plants grow."

Beosta wasn't sure what to think.

Make the plants . . . grow? Shoe was confused. How were they supposed to make the plants grow if they didn't have any tools or supplies?

He took the pad back out and wrote his concerns down, then handed it to the man.

The man stared at him. "Right. You're not from here. Our city is extremely susceptible to narration, even from non-narrators. All you have to do is say that our crops grow, and it will happen."

Huh.

He nudged Beosta. You can talk; tell the plants to grow.

Beosta glanced at him, then at the other dude. She frowned. “Grow,” she told the plants.”

Nothing happened.

”You have to narrate,” the man told her.

“Uh… the plants grew.”

Fields of wheat shot up, stretching far off into the distance like a sudden sea of gold rippling in the wind. Beosta’s eyes widened.

Shoe whistled. Wow. That was easy.

Is that all? he wrote to the man.

Bacon observed the board. "Hmm. It would appear we have a tie."

As if to emphasize the point, the board turned into a bow tie.
