Are you sure you want to trust him with that? Shoe wrote to her. What if someone sent him to spy on us?

I don’t want Livetha stuck in a pantry. They promised they’d bring her.

The boy dashed off.

Hopefully it turns out okay.

Hopefully. He sighed and leaned back against the wall.

The boy did come back, carrying a squirming stoat. He shoved it into Beosta’s arms and ran off, looking traumatized.

Livetha stilled and quivered in her arms. Beosta stroked her fur and murmured little things. The stoat buried her face in Beosta’s elbow— in shame or in fear, Beosta couldn’t tell.

Oh, poor thing, Shoe thought. She looks so scared.

He picked the pad back up. She looked distressed; why didn't she come and find us?

I’ll bet she got locked in. Beosta’s handwriting was crooked. My mentor hinted at it.

Livetha wasn’t a Narrator anymore. Beosta could try to get Qodi, but they were too far away; she couldn’t risk that. She’d have to Bond a weakling stoat.

She sighed. Better than nothing.

Ehehe I did her backstory and the dishes at the same time :3

also my breaks over byeee

Byeeeee!

Shoe was confused. Couldn't she have gotten herself out if the door were locked?

Just call upon Bacon’s name,

Naught but three times for his game,

And he shall stop all your shame,

And your stoat will be a bit less tame.

Tull relinquished the book.

Blue wondered where Brown went, so he teleported to Bacon and Sasha.

Erif read the story in question, getting more and more agitated with every page. When he was finished, he snapped the book shut. "Oracle!" he called angrily. "What is the meaning of this?"

The oracle's voice came from everywhere and nowhere. "It is a book of stories. So what if some of the stories are true? Many stories are."

"How does this help me?" Erif looked more furious than Tull had ever seen him before. "Or are you just mocking me?"

"Figure that out yourself," said the oracle.

38 minutes ago, Kajsa said:

“We could play a game,” Sasha suggested.

"Ooh, I like that idea!" said Bacon. "What game? I know checkers, tic tac toe, and 5D Diplomacy with Multiverse Time Travel."

Did you like my poem?

Tull looks at him. “You okay?”

Bacon thinks it is very clever. :P

I take no responsibility for what happens if you say Bacon's name three times.

"No, I'm not okay!" said Erif. "What does the sharking oracle mean, figure it out yourself? How am I supposed to sharking figure anything out? I already lived through this!"

Tull didn’t know what to say.

Brown was enthralled by the bacon in the bacon world. “Bacon bacon bacon!”

hehe

Erif punched a tree. This turned out to be a mistake.

A few minutes later, when his hand had stopped throbbing, he sat down. He stared dully at the book.

"What now? he mumbled.

Then he frowned. He flipped back a few pages, eyebrows furrowed.

"The Inspector?" he said. "Who's that?"

To what bacon are you referring? :P

“Bacon the Bard, Bacon the Bard, Bacon the Bard!!” Fuzzy shouted.

Bacon poppers exploded from every direction as "Happy Birthday to Bacon" played at full volume in Fuzzy's ears. Three breadmunks pranced by performing ballet.

"You called?" said Bacon the Bard.

Tull knew who the Inspector was, but wasn’t sure how wise it was to explain. “He works for a… a very powerful and dangerous man.”

“I’ve never met him. But I’ve heard tale of his master’s power. But Erif… the master I’m speaking of… do not speak of him lightly. We do not want to attract… unwanted attention.”

"Have you not heard of Tic-Tac-Toe before? It's a fairly easy game to learn."

Erif's eyes were inflamed. Determined.

"Well, learn you shall!" Bacon the Bard waved his hand, and a tic-tac-toe board appeared in midair. "The rules are simple. Each player takes a turn placing down a symbol on one of the nine squares. One player places Xs, the other Os." Bacon conjured the symbols in the air for emphasis. "When you get three in a row, you win!"

Tull stared for a while. “Fine. Just… never mind. I’ll come with you… let me take you.”

They were teleported to a location he knew Onyx would actively walk.

I don’t think Tull would know where he is, so would this be ok?

Unfortunately, Tull had no idea where Onyx could be found, so they ended up somewhere random.

Not going to be that easy :P

"I'll go first," said Bacon, putting an O in the center square."
