Wow hadn’t indicated any direction, but he was glad the group was moving.  He also wondered briefly why Shoe was continually shrugging.

 

Then a whisper, intricately soft, floated across the gloom.

“STOP!” The voice was forceful this time, but still in a loud whisper.

A large cave fell down to the travelers. “I said stop.”

Shoe wondered how it was possible for the negative space in a rock to fall in front of them, but he did stop walking.

The cave had one entrance. From that entrance, floated in a green gas. The cave soon started to fill fill with the gas. Woe bragged it in and felt very

He fell asleep, deeply.

Shoe also fell asleep. Not because of the gas, but because while he was running to help Woe he tripped on a rock and hit his head, knocking himself out cold.

Then he, too, fell into a deep sleep, feeling slightly miffed that the voice hadn't answered his question.

A hooded figure walked in and the room grew dark and gloomy. It wasn't apparent how he had entered. His face seemed to bleed off black mist. His voice was quiet and hissing. "Greeting once-adventurers. I am the end of your noble quest. But first I have a message for you."

Shoe completely ignored the hooded figure, pulled out a deck of cards, and began playing solitaire.
