A man appeared, dragging behind him a metal pole, a meter long and around ten centimeters in diameter. It threw up sparks on the ground behind him as he dragged it. He wore simple worker's clothing, and looked rather tired.

Desolation was the inkling responsible for the death of Thaidakar von Kelsier, and was a major enemy for nearly 100 pages- maybe even more.
