Nothing happened. Subversion frowned at Platypus. “Was that supposed to get rid of my illusions? I haven’t made any yet.”  She pointed her Narrationblade at Platypus, forming a web of Narration surrounding him to make his skin vulnerable to attacks.

Platypus grinned. "You're losing your touch." His voice echoed off the cavernous walls, and he suddenly disappeared. "I do far more that one thing with every action."

Subversion shifted her posture slightly, but otherwise remained standing where she was. "I thought I was supposed to be the one who relied on trickery to win fights. Not confident that you'll be strong enough to beat me without it?"

Platypus' voiced boomed from the ceiling. "Trying to bait me? Contrary to your belief, I'm not stupid. I know  I'm strong enough to beat you, but I just need to prep this. Just give me a minute." A small buzzing noise starts echoing in the battlefield.

Subversion looked around, trying to find the source of the noise. "So you did do some preparation for this fight. Good. It would've been a letdown to defeat you easily."

Platypus just smirked invisibly.

Subversion yawned, tossing her Narrationblade from hand to hand as she waited for Platypus's secret weapon to finish charging.

"Alright, I'm ready," Platypus announced, reappearing in the exact position he had disappeared in.

"Excellent." Subversion formed her Narrationblade into a boomerang and threw it at his head.

He blocked it, sending it clattering to the ground with his Luxblade, before pulling out a strange orange-and-purple Blade, rushing towards her.

Subversion summoned her Narrationblade back to her hand and raised it to block Platypus's attack. "What's with the fancy sword? Some kind of anti-Narration weapon?"

"I wish. We call that Nullite, and it's a little tricky to get my hands on that. But it is very useful." The blade carves a small notch into the Narrationblade.

"Well I wouldn't say that Nullite is specifically anti-Narration. More just very effective against it when used properly." Subversion repairs her Narrationblade with a thought and snaps her fingers, causing the fog pooling on the ground to rise up and engulf both fighters.

Subversion backs away from Platypus, quickly disappearing into the fog. "Still, that blade is interesting. What's it made of?"

Platypus fades away, then seems to fall off a cliff. His voice echoes from the center of the arena. "Wouldn't you like to know. It's a very... interesting substance, let's just say that.

"I see. Where'd you get it?" Subversions voice appears to come from just behind Platypus.

"I forged it, but it was a real pain to acquire. I'll let you know later." Platypus wondered how long Subversion could hold her breath.

"Forever, thanks for asking. How long can you hold it for?" The fog filling the arena begins to glow softly.

"I didn't. And I can hold it for longer than you."
