Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 It was at that moment that something powerful subverted expectations and turned Subversion into ten different people, all representing aspects of their personality.

Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Shadow stood looking out over the hidden city of Rohtilak where the remnants of the population of Kalithor lived. They had rebuilt quite nicely, it seemed. It was nestled in a large cavern the size of two mount Everests if they were lying down, and perhaps standing up next to eachother. The cavern was lit by large, glowing crystals that grew naturally on the walls, casting a bright luminous light. If a specific metal touched them, the light would dissipate to a light glow, taking on a moonlike appearance to give the simulation of a daylight cycle. Now we return to the suited being named Shadow as he leaned against the side of a well built tower at the side of the hidden city, smiling softly to himself, thinking of the events that plagued the thread. A threat was coming, he had sensed it. And, furthermore, the Narrator who he'd made a deal with to borrow Narration abilities from was slowly losing his memories. Thaidakar Von Kelsier, Narrator extroidinaire and the most widely hated of the bunch. Shadow smirked, the man certainly was something. Especially since he'd held the powers of a God. The powers of a God that most narrators had anyways. A very interesting man... Then again, a lot of people were interesting to Shadow. Especially when they had the ability to become a threat to reality as the denizens of the chaotic thread knew it. Roleplay, as it was designated when plot arrived into shape, was their enemy. The real question in his mind was why of all chaotic things that could happen was a villain emerging. A villain that seemed to be being led by Thaidakar's author into the plot line. "It's an interesting place, yes?" a voice said softly." Shadow turned, slightly surprised, but once he saw who it was he no longer was. Michael, a man from long ago. A man who had once been highly involved in plot. But no longer was. A close friend of Spook. "Michael, where've you been? And, more importantly, why are you here? From what I remember, you were living a life quite free of this thread, spending it with your wife and son." "I was. I was until I came back home to the bodies of my son and wife," Shadow didn't know why he hadn't noticed the grief highly evident to him now in Micheal's eyes. Micheal himself continued with his story, "There was a note on the floor... I..." He shook his head. "Apparently I am necessary for some sort of plot. If it was an ordinary note, I would ignore it. But..." A fury that had never before come to the man's eyes flourished, practically casting a burning fire, "Whoever killed Lindy will die." "I admire your determination, but revenge is not good for these kinds of plots," Shadow said, adjusting the cuff of his suit. "How did you find me? I am not the Shadow you usually interact with on Saturdays at the pub." "Because he was cut off." Shadow froze, "What?" "You heard me, Shadow, he was cut off and killed in front of me. I went to him first." Micheal drew a knife from his sleeve. "And it looked like... like another of your hives. I killed him. Right on spot. Did you sense it?" "No... You talk about it as if he wasn't the one who killed your wife," Shadow said, his usually pale face ghastly white, enhancing the raven black hair on the being's head. "I have not heard or sensed anything about this. This..." For the first time in a long time, the entity who had turned events to his will, who had built his reality with a characteristic confidence and calm was terrified. "As he died, he said: 'They will kill you... like they killed your pathetic wife.' That Ku Nu Kam..." Micheal spat the words with such vehemence. Shaken, Shadow turned softly, "We need to find Nameless." "What? Why?" "He'll know what to do, he's been here longer than I have. The Shadows only arrived after we could firmly anchor ourselves in this realm. Nameless is the only one we can be sure will not be enraptured into this plot or in any kind of thing that will truly destroy this thread." Shadow walked forward to the edge, crowds bustling through their daily activities below, raising his hand. "Come, Micheal, we have work to do." Pitch black power burst from Shadow's hand, creating a rip in reality in front of him. "We have to end this role-play once and for all." And, with that, Shadow leapt into the darkness, Micheal following swiftly. 1

Reasoning 5. Whimsy 6. Emotion 7. Story 8. Pride 9. Megalomaniacal god-complex 10. Honor Edited July 13, 2023 by Nameless*
Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Whimsy was immediately given an Oscar and an Emmy.

Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 page 131 was in 2018. Just look it up on the page number thing.

Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Reasoning was targeted by a mysterious entity. The mysterious entity killed them with a mordite bullet, acquired in a shady deal that cost them a lot of ham sandwiches.
NameIess Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Unfortunately, the Mordite was impure as a result of merely incredible workmanship, meaning Reasoning survived to go tell Shadow that his quest to find Nameless would be very very difficult.

Micheal stood behind him, carving a piece of wood with a shining knife made from the remnants of a sword once wielded by someone from Mythos's past.

Shadow chuckled, "My, that was fun. their Author is having a fun time." Micheal just shrugged, the images running through his head. A knife through Lindy's chest, blood stained floors, the remains of his son littered around a room... He stood silently, frozen in his memories. "I know how to find Nameless, however." Shadow said, pulling out a small compass, giving it a glance. "Nameless wasn't killed. At least, I don't think he was... I have a hunch, and a good one. But, before I act on it, I need more proof." Shadow shoved the compass back into his pockets, shuffling his fingers around, looking for a very specific object of interest. Finally, he pulled out the small, black and red device. The entity pressed one of the buttons and the brave adventurer was drawn through reality into the are directly before them.
